Given the ATF's most recent assault on the , this important legislation will protect the right of law-abiding Americans to choose the firearm that best suits their needs while eliminating an outdated and onerous taxing and registration scheme. If passed, American gun owners will no longer have to fear the unconstitutional and arbitrary reinterpretations of the law by unelected, anti-gun bureaucrats. The NRA thanks Sen. Marshall for his unwavering support of the Second Amendment and his leadership in introducing these commonsense reforms.”

  1. This is a good first step if it happens. But what REALLY needs to happen is legislation that makes it clear all these government agencies have NO lawmaking power. The Constitution gives that power to Congress and ONLY Congress. Even then it is limited.

Using cute tricks, like calling them ‘rules’ or ‘regulations’ when they function exactly as any other law doesn’t make them anything else but laws.

I know, the communists and socialists won’t like this, but hey it is a constitutional republic.
