Washington, D.C. – The Tax Policy Center, a left-wing group that favors higher taxes on the wealthiest Americans, released an analysis of President Joe Biden’s budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year that showed it would cause taxes to rise for those making less than $400,000 in annual income.

The study, which is supposed to show Biden is following through on his promise to make the rich pay more, has also arranged it so that the people whom he specifically and repeatedly has said would not pay “one thin dime” in additional levies would also see their taxes go up.

Republicans on the House Budget Committee criticized both the president and senior officials within his government for continuing to deceive the American people about just where the tax hikes will fall.

“The President’s 2024 budget details a blueprint to build on this progress and finish the job. It’s built around four key values: investing in America, lowering costs for families, protecting and strengthening Social Security and Medicare, and reducing the deficit. And it does all of this while ensuring that no one earning less than $400,000 per year will pay a penny more in new taxes,” Shalada Young, director of the President’s Office of Management and Budget recently said while testifying before the House Budget Committee

Under the Biden proposal, as the above table shows using data compiled by The Tax Policy Center, many American taxpayers who are considered middle- and working-class as well as poor would have to pay more to Washington if the Biden proposal is adopted.

In fact, the Budget Committee said, more than 111 million taxpayers who make less than $400,000 would see their taxes rise next year including a majority of those making between $31,000 and $400,000.

The lying continues – “no one who makes less than $400,000 per year will have their taxes raised.” I remember when I lie cost you the next election. Boy, those were the days.
