Former FBI Analyst Sues FBI Director After Being Purged for Conservative Political Views

-

A decorated military veteran and analyst is suing FBI Director , alleging the agency suspended him without pay and stripped him of his security clearance after falsely accusing him of supporting the January 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riots.

Marcus Allen, a decorated Marine Corps veteran who was awarded the FBI Charlotte Field Office Employee of the Year Award in 2019, was accused by bureau leaders in January 2022 of disloyalty to the United States for supporting the riots.

Bureau officials then suspended Allen and revoked his security clearance in February.

“The FBI can't purge employees based on political smears. seeks to remind the FBI that it is not above the law with this civil rights lawsuit for Mr. Allen, a decorated Marine veteran and highly regarded FBI employee,” said Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch, a non-profit public interest law firm helping represent Allen.

The FBI has provided no evidence Allen ever voiced support for the January 6 riots, and Allen denies making any statement in support.

FBI officials refused Allen's request for a meeting to clear his name until agreeing to one in May – just days after revealed FBI officials were illicitly purging politically conservative employees.

Congressman Jim Jordan, Ranking Member of the House Judiciary Committee, sent a June 7, 2022 letter to Wray, citing Allen's case, which also noted, “Multiple whistleblowers have called it a ‘purge' of FBI employees holding conservative views.”

“The lawsuit alleges several violations of Allen's First and Fifth Amendment rights and asks that Allen's security clearance and employment be restored,” reports Judicial Watch.

  1. Do away with the entire FBI as it exists today. Re-structure with an organization that follows the law and upholds the Constitution, not this politicized mess we currently have.

    • I agree! The FBI was politicized under Obama and has gone drastically down hill since. At this point, there is no saving it as the FBI is structure today. It needs to be scrapped and restructured from the top down.
