Israel-Hamas War Showcases US Border Failure

-

Inevitably, the conflict between and the Iranian-backed Palestinian paramilitary terrorist organization has led to several political personalities comparing it to the U.S.-Mexican border and hysterical liberals responding that the two are vastly different.

Indeed, Eric Boehm, in Reason, scripted a piece October 10th titled “Here's What the Hamas Attack Tells Us About U.S. Immigration Policy: Nothing,” attempting to question the intelligence of former President Trump; former Governor Nikki Haley (R-S.C.) and Governor Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) of such a thought that our border with and Israel's with could possibly be compared at all. Boehm writes, “If a politician can't tell the difference between migrants coming to the U.S. for jobs and terrorists hell-bent on murder and mayhem, they shouldn't be trusted with making federal policy in either arena.”

Well, Mr. Boehm, you make the whole point in your own statement. The should have a secure, high wall, with points of entry patrolled by officers and drones, solid border system – because you are exactly right – you cannot tell the difference between a good or bad person by looking at them! And you especially cannot tell if you have no idea who they are.

To be clear, the liberal system is built on race, gender and identity – but how does one “tell the difference” of good and bad-intentioned persons without applying such base and obviously misguided judgments?

That's the whole point of border security. Who's coming into your country? Why? It's the very reason borders exist. To maintain economic order and security for the citizens of the state.

People are identified at the border, checked and allowed in – or not. There are visas for some – remember vaccine cards? Oh, how these people forget. Does Mr. Boehm have a passport? You bet he does. That blue one with a gold eagle that he uses to go to Europe on holiday. Or Mexico for the beach. The one that could get him out of Israel today and back home safely if evacuation was needed. So why is it okay to compare the border failure of Israel with our own?

Our border with Mexico is in severe crisis. The mayors of Chicago and New York say so! They are begging for help from the , and none is forthcoming. Migrants are overwhelming those city's shelter and social assistance systems so badly that Americans who have fallen on hard times are being turned away or denied basic services they should be entitled to as citizens. That matters.

And what else matters is that tons of , hundreds of criminals and thousands of people who are trafficked for indentured work or prostitution are breaching our border every single day, along with the thousands of migrants who were encouraged by America's leftist progressives to come to our country – but skirt the system and not be counted through the legal process and proudly become citizens as many have – are putting our country in danger of socioeconomic collapse in our major metropolitan areas.

The ripple effect will be devastating if this continues and is not stopped.

We must, after what we have seen happen to Israel, reinforce our southern border immediately, without hesitation, to prevent the further flow of illegal migrants, drugs and criminals to stop the inevitable economic collapse of our cities.

While Israel has fallen victim to on an unprecedented scale due to the failure of its border security systems, we should take it as a lesson to strengthen our own to keep our nation from going down the path of socioeconomic ruin. While, of course, the current circumstances confronting the United States and Israel are vastly different – the lesson is clear – weak borders of any kind carry severe consequences.

  1. Only after some terrible event will the fools who think all these people are just peaceful migrants looking for a job, finally wake up. IMO

  2. The lack of border security at the Southern USA is considered a colossal success by the democrat party, as America’s demise is their primary agenda.
