Mass Disaster

Living in Massachusetts is not for the faint of heart.

There is a good reason it is nicknamed Taxachusetts.  Then there is the traffic, liberal legislature, and Liz Warren.  It all makes Massachusetts scarier than all the Halloween movies combined.  The only more frightening thing in this world is a second Biden term. 

We have a new Massachusetts disaster brewing. Like New York, illegal immigrants are invading our state in record numbers. Last January when Republican Governor Charlie Baker left office, our state had a total of 14 families living in hotels paid for by the state.

Now with Democrats controlling the Governor's office, we have 6000 families or as the Democrat Housing Secretary calls it – a small city of 24,000 — illegal immigrants.  Our new Lt. Governor Kim Driscoll has claimed that they are all legal.  Really? So, 24,000 homeless people flocked to the Commonwealth at the same time the border is wide open.  It is just a coincidence.    Everyone knows she is lying.

Massachusetts is in especially deep trouble because we are the only right-to-settle state in the country.  What does that mean?  If you show up in our state claiming to be homeless, you move to the top of the housing list.  So, if a veteran or a senior has been waiting for housing, they get stepped over by the illegal immigrants claiming to be homeless.  

But we don't just supply housing.  According to our Governor, the state is providing “warm meals and groceries.” Let me translate: That's room service and EBT cards.  These illegals feel so entitled that one called 911 to complain about room service.  No joke.  

It gets even better!

Our Governor Maura Healey just filed a supplemental budget to close the gap on the previous fiscal year.  Usually, the gap is $300 to $500 million.  This year it is $2.4 billion.  We don't have a shortfall of hundreds of millions, but now billions.  Disaster!

In her supplemental budget, there is $250 million to house illegals.  That's on top of $380 million passed in January to pay for their housing.  Then there is another $200 million for lawyers for illegals.  So, our tax dollars are being used so illegals can sue us.  Crazy!

While the Governor wants $2.4 billion for illegals in her supplemental budget, the legislature just passed a tax relief package of $500 million.  See a difference in equity?  Illegals get $2.4 billion plus $380 million while taxpayers get only $500 million.  

Now you may have recently seen our Governor in the news because she declared a state of emergency in Massachusetts.  Don't be fooled by her claim of wanting federal dollars.  First, if she was worried about costs, she could support the effort to repeal the right-to-settle law.  

Second, she is the one who hired more Registry of Motor Vehicles employees to process licenses for illegals.  Legal residents cannot get appointments to get real ID, but illegals' licenses are expedited.

Third, the state of emergency allows Healey to override municipal laws and regulations.  For example, the city of Taunton revoked the liquor license for the hotel housing illegals.  They are also fining the hotel for being over capacity. Now with the state of emergency in place, communities cannot fight back.

Ugh! Massachusetts taxpayers need a lifeline.
