Presidential Debates Really Do Matter – Republicans Need to Act Accordingly

-

President Biden is in Poland for one purpose only. He's trying to improve his image before he announces his reelection bid.

I would say, “God help us,” but it is up to us Republicans to stop him.

Every day there is another embarrassment or bad policy decision coming out of the White House that takes our country to a new low. Republicans have to pull out all the stops to win the presidency in 2024. If we want to save the Republic, we cannot afford for the red wave to miss again.

The 2022 elections should serve as a great warning that nothing can ever be presumed to happen. Democrats and their allies in the worked overtime to fool voters. The GOP must be thinking ten steps ahead, especially when it comes to the presidential debates that are so crucial to getting our message out unfiltered.

Just look at the Dr. Oz vs. John Fetterman race in Pennsylvania. The Democrats pushed the debate date into late October after one million Pennsylvanians had voted. Those voters did not get to see before they sent in their ballots how Fetterman was not well and not up to the job. If that debate had been on September 15th or even September 30th, Oz would have won and Republicans may have won the Senate.

On the presidential level, debates are even more important. Eighty-four million viewers tuned in to watch the Trump vs. Clinton confrontation that helped put him over the top.  We might have been saved from a second Obama term if Mitt Romney had not completely dropped the ball in the second debate.

I know it may seem early, but these dates and formats should be booked now. Why? First, Republicans need to be aggressive in ensuring a fair format with unbiased moderators. That is going to be a huge media battle, especially if the GOP stands up to the , which always favors the Democrats. We don't want that to reflect on our GOP nominee, so now is the time to duke it out.

Second, we cannot allow the debates to be scheduled for the end of October. People who vote early or by mail-in ballots need to watch the debates before they vote. In 2020, the debates were scheduled for September 29th, October 15th and October 22nd. Biden was considered the winner of the September debate, because expectations had been set so low for him. Shockingly, he was able to put together full sentences. Due to President Trump contracting COVID, the media tried to make the second debate virtual. Trump declined, so he did not get another appearance with Biden until the 22nd. That's way too late and doomed us to this buffoon now in the White House.

Our nation is $31 trillion in debt. Our infrastructure is failing. Our military is shooting balloons out of the sky, not knowing what they are, damaging our credibility on the world stage. Our nation is now back to being dependent on foreign oil. Inflation is devastating household budgets. Our rights and freedoms are being limited. For the preservation of our republic, we can never allow another Democrat in the White House.
