Republicans Fall Into Biden’s Messaging Trap

-

It is inflation, stupid!

I cannot believe how Republicans are taking the Biden bait! Stop!

During the speech, Biden lied as he usually does, claiming Republicans want to cut and . Instead of the GOP stepping up their attacks on the high inflationary rate Biden has caused, the newly discovered classified documents and his lack of response on the Chinese spy balloon, they are responding to his idiotic claims giving his falsehoods coverage. They should have ignored him and not pumped life into his lies.

Their strategy or lack of strategy on this latest ambush is all wrong. (RELATED: Fox News Hosts Spar Over GOP Heckling at State of the Union)

Do Republicans want to be talking about Social Security? No! For the GOP to be scoring points and relating to voters, they need to be in the news about inflation and gas prices.  They are letting the tail wag the dog.

Of course, Biden and the socialist Democrats want Social Security and Medicare to be the hot topic. They have everything to gain and nothing to lose. However, if they are forced to answer questions on inflation and energy prices, they are losing.

While I fully understand the media is in Biden's back pocket, the GOP needs to be smarter in controlling the agenda. Speaker did a great job with members visiting the border, but he needs to be pushing every day. This is a fight for the heart and soul of our nation. (RELATED: Risks Remain Even as McCarthy Passes First Governing Tests)

I would suggest that Speaker McCarthy should lead a day where every GOP member pumps gas to emphasize the failed Biden energy policies. Another idea would be to bring a carton of eggs to the House floor to talk about inflation. McCarthy should visit grocery stores.

There are endless ideas on how to point out Biden's failures. Let's keep Biden on defense while we are on offense.

  1. When are repukes, going to wise up,to this pathetic, lying, senile, old, puppet, fool. Are u afraid to call him ou,t for all the habitual, cronic, lying he does.

    • He heard from Republicans during the SOTU address. He was called out as a liar. By referring to Republicans as “repukes” you are using the exact language used often by extreme leftist activists. Do you want to be associated with that group or would you rather work in a constructive fashion with elected Republicans who can cause change – something you cannot do directly.

  2. This author is right. All my life democrats have framed the message and republicans have merely reacted. My high school coach used to stress that our team should set the pace, control the game—not let the other team do that—if we wanted to come out on top. I was 16 when I learned that. What’s the matter with republicans—are they stupid, lazy or just plain inept?

    • They need to clear the RINOs out! Start with McConnell and anyone who bows to China. Think maybe all tax money should be pulled from all Universities. They are not doing what they are paid to do. EDUCATE not indoctrinate.

      • The continuous talk about RINOs, especially when it is used to describe whoever does not agree with you, is not helpful either. Republicans are going to need a really big tent to win in 2024. By the way, are you including McConnell as bowing to China? I’m not a great big Mitch fan, but I’m going to have to ask for some specifics if you are.

        • Wrong….Repubs are mostly talk and no action where talk is cheap and goes nowhere. The RINOs are just lukewarm Demonrats in disguise and traitors to those they represent with McConnell and Romney for two just like McConnell’s retribution for those kicked off committees in the house who deserved every bit of it and Romney’s RINO trash because he was rightly rejected by the people for president. Every single one of those RINOs need dumped into where the belong…..the Demonrat party.

    • I think you’re on the right track, but it’s really even simpler: The Democrats play for keeps, and the Republicans either don’t know how to do this, or they lack the stomach to do so.

Every Republican should be required to read Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” so they can better understand what the enemy is doing (and maybe start applying some of those rules themselves). Don’t be put off by the title of this book; instead of “Radicals” substitute “Opponents of the Current Regime”, because that’s really what it’s about. The Democrats are clearly playing by these rules, and one in particular — always accuse your opponent of doing what you yourself are doing (or plan to do) — seems to be a favorite. So, when bLIEden accuses Republicans of trying to destroy Social Security and Medicare, it’s not too hard to figure out what comes next.

We need to recognize that politics is a contact sport, and in contact sports people get hurt. The only question is whether we’re the ones getting hurt or the ones doing the hurting. If we don’t start playing for keeps and get serious about winning — which means doing whatever it takes to win — all is lost.

  3. I agree that the message should always be on the offensive. Defense only can win if you are ahead and Republicans are blind and deaf if they think they are ahead. Get on offense, stay on offense until you really are ahead and then stay on offense. It is time for blowouts, not close games.

  4. So what’s new? Here in Arizona, Kari Lake is arguing her case about voter fraud on broken machinery. What kind of idiot lawyers does she have. The real case should be Maricopa County FAILING to let voters vote by denying voters polling places that could print ballots, receive ballots and deliver ballots under custody. That is the job of Government, to provide voters their right to vote without any undue influence or hardship. But, these are Republicans that can’t see the light of day.

  5. The narrative to the weak minded is to believe whatever they are told by the democrat party propagandist news media, that is why the republicans continually have to set the record straight! It wasn’t a trap set by creepy Joe, the media told him to say that, they most likely wrote his speech, he damn sure couldn’t write a speech!

  6. With some exceptions the Repubs have no ability to properly respond to Dems who set the agenda with their press coverage. The Repubs cannot break out of that defensive mode. Call them “racist” and it is almost comical to watch them scurry around. Trump hit them back twice as hard and the GOP practically croaked in fear. I can’t see the GOP changing and, as a lifelong Republican, that truly seems sad.
