HOMELAND SECURITY

DHS has dismissed the members of its advisory committees, including the Cyber Safety Review Board, which investigates major cybersecurity incidents—as part of Trump’s drive to cut costs at the agency, and end “misuse of resources.”
POLITICS
What did Trump’s first 24 hours in office look like?
POOF! – Former JCS chairman Gen. Mark Milley’s portrait, that was put up just a week before, disappears from Pentagon on Trump’s Inauguration Day. Milley’s disloyal and out-of-line words and actions earned him that slight.
US POWER OVERSEAS

Four US B-1 bombers landed in Guam on Jan. 15 for first Bomber Task Force deployment of 2025.
IRAN THREAT/MIDDLE EAST

After retiring from LE, I did high level backgrounds for the Feds for 20 years for Omnisec. From my perspective, the problems with backgrounds is the lack of details contacts will provide. I was supposed to talk with two neighbors, two co workers, to develop a third contact from those not listed on the forms, police checks, etc. However, once you informed a contact, as you had to do, that the subject of the investigation could read their contacts, they tended to claim up. You knew there was more there, but were rarely able to get them to divulge it. I would be given a case(s) and told to complete them within two weeks, not including travel time if they were out of the area. Delays occurred, in my opinion, in the offices, not at the investigator level.
