The Trump Justice Department has ordered federal prosecutors to investigate state and local officials accused of obstructing immigration enforcement efforts, escalating its crackdown on sanctuary policies nationwide.
In addition to potential prosecutions, the administration is preparing to challenge sanctuary laws in court, aiming to weaken local protections for illegal immigrants that conflict with President Trump’s immigration policies.

The Department of Justice has reportedly ordered federal prosecutors to investigate any state or local officials who do follow President Donald Trump’s new immigration laws.
The directive was made in a memo obtained by The Associated Press and states prosecutors must “take all steps necessary to protect the public and secure the American border by removing illegal aliens from the country and prosecuting illegal aliens for crimes.”
Some state and local leaders opposed Trump’s plan before he took office to mass deport illegal migrants.
Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said last year that he would encourage mass protests if Trump conducted deportations.
Likewise, Governor Maura Healey announced that the Massachusetts State Police would not assist with these federal efforts, stating, “No, absolutely not.”
On Monday, senior officials overseeing the nation’s immigration courts were removed from their posts, a move that has shocked many within the department. The Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), which manages the U.S. immigration court system, saw longstanding leaders ousted. These officials had served in the Justice Department for years, underscoring the new administration’s intent to reshape immigration oversight.

They should be put in jail for “aiding & abetting known criminals”.
Then maybe they should also be charged with Treason against the legal Citizens of the USA?
I agree; It’s time that officials completely understand “IMMIGRATION LAWSS” when they take a position. It is NOT up to them to establish what FEDERAL laws will be enforced in their states an in their cities.
All countries have Immigration Laws and the USA is no different but has been the most LAX in their enforcement due to the many bleeding hearts who do NOT understand that laws exist for a reason , and without immigration laws , we are NOT a Sovereign country, but a Banana Republic with no laws
