Trump ‘Mentions’ In Epstein Files Turn Out To Be A Big ‘Nothing Burger’

They only show Epstein’s unhealthy obsession with President Trump. Democrats have been frantically trying to link Trump to uber-wealthy, now dead, Jeffrey Epstein’s sex crimes for years, to no avail.

But now, news outlets are scouring through millions of newly released documents from the recently released “Epstein files” (simply a massive trove of emails, papers, memos, photos, and documents gathered over years, much of it unrelated to anything of importance).

To help sort things out, the “Epstein Index” has catalogued the most mentioned people found in 7 million pages analyzed so far.

The Index is unique in that it counts clear references to individuals — omitting duplicated data, names in email headers, third-party articles, etc. — whereas many news outlets count every single named reference in a document by means of a PDF word search or equivalent.

And lo and behold, among the top 10 people, Trump is number three on this Index with 53 mentions. Despite sounding ominous, Trump is a very distant third to the top two, former Prince Andrew, with 302 mentions, and, very significantly, Bill Clinton, with 235 mentions.

That’s a huge gap before Trump’s 53. And, significantly, there are no emails or other communications between Trump and Epstein at all. The rest of the top 10 mentioned include Bill Gates with 38, Elon Musk with 21, and Harvey Weinstein with 18. All ten can be seen in the graphic below.

As the Department of Justice has correctly emphasized, inclusion in this list does not imply guilt or criminal activity of any sort. And most of the mentions are totally benign.

In some of these 10 cases, there are references that imply sexual activities or looking for a partner, but so far, even those seem legal, if not moral. Others require further investigation. In many cases, the mentions are simply tangential or gossip among billionaires and bigwigs.

In Trump’s case, it appears to be mostly Epstein obsessing over his former social friend who kicked him to the curb, and out of Mar-a-Lago, two decades ago, for poaching his spa’s masseuses, and who Epstein despises, and is looking for ways to hurt.

Epstein’s ire only grew when Trump ran for president, and after he was elected, Trump’s Justice Department prosecuted and jailed him.

Emails from Epstein reported earlier “show that the late financier and convicted sex offender tried to cast himself as a Trump expert and led his friends, girlfriends, and political acquaintances to believe he had the inside track on Trump — for everything from who was being nominated to his cabinet to where the President was spending Thanksgiving,” the Miami Herald reported in November 2025.

The Herald added: “More than once, Epstein suggests that he has compromising information on Trump, both before and after his first term as president.” In Epstein’s own words in one email, “I am the one able to take him down.”

But he never provides even a hint of how.

The messages also reveal that Epstein tried to leverage his prior association with Trump with world leaders. In one message to Norway’s prime minister, Epstein suggests that Russia’s Vladimir Putin and foreign minister Sergei Lavrov should use him to get “insight” on Trump before their first meeting in Helsinki in 2018.

But, in the end, as the Times of India noted:

Trump appears in the Epstein files in a strangely spectral way. His name is everywhere, but his voice is nowhere. He shows up in third-party emails, in interview notes, in calendars, in contact lists, and in messages where other people discuss him as a destination, a favour, or a point of access.

Trump appears as a setting—Mar-a-Lago—as a brand, as a person others want proximity to, but never quite as an author whose words can be pinned down. Even when he is mentioned in investigative summaries or unverified tips, those references remain second-hand and legally inert. In a cache overflowing with emails, Trump’s absence as a sender or recipient is as conspicuous as his omnipresence as a reference. Perhaps it’s out there, withheld by the regime, but as of now, we have nothing.

In fact, there isn’t a single email exchange between Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, who seemed to be emailing much of the Western hemisphere. [emphasis added]

Many Democrats thought the Epstein files would finally be something they could use to nail Trump, but it has instead made older Democratic leaders look bad. The one in hot water—literally and figuratively—is former president Bill Clinton.

We may all still be surprised, but if that’s all that Trump’s enemies can find, it should be a badge of honor for Trump.
