Yes, Obama Faked Intel To Hurt Trump — Ignore Liberal Media Spin

None dare call it treason. Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard recently showed that Obama ordered an intelligence assessment that eventually found Russia intervened to help Trump defeat Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

That flawed, or contrived, assessment was then used to fuel, via a deliberate administration leaking campaign, wild conspiracy theories of unlawful collusion between Donald Trump and the Kremlin.

From the minute Gabbard made her shocking claim about the Obama team’s manufactured intelligence to promote Trump-Russia collusion hoax, the establishment media and Democrat partisans have gone on a fast and furious rampage trying to dismiss and discredit it.

As part of their spin, they launched a flurry of denials, smokescreens, evasion, and counter accusations; all part of the standard spy playbook: “Deny, Deflect, Denounce.”

Ignore all of it. Team Obama did manipulate intelligence to hurt Trump.

CNN hack Zachary Wolf says that Gabbard is trying to rewrite the history of the 2016 election, even though his outlet and former President Barrack Obama wrote the false first draft of that history themselves. Wolf claims that:

In Gabbard’s telling, the idea that Russia meddled and that it favored Trump is a narrative spun out of a conspiracy hatched by then-President Barack Obama to undermine Trump from the get-go. Trump clearly approves of Gabbard’s version, although there’s no evidence to support her claims.

To back up his preconceived assessment and defend Team Obama and his outlet’s own collusion in this fake narrative, he relies on fellow CNN hack, Jeremy Herb, to explain away the evidence, providing mostly his biased analysis and conclusions without rebutting key specifics in Gabbards claim.

In typical fashion the end result is a confusing smokescreen based on rehashed old news and flawed evidence which totally ignores the specific proof uncovered by Gabbard.

This goes for the rest of the liberal media pack as well, but the desperate spin campaign may be doomed.

Matt Taibbi, who broke the Twitter Files censorship story, writes in his Substack:

Mainstream press outlets like the New York Times and Politico have already run pieces quoting Democratic Party mouthpieces shrugging off Gabbard’s reports as “baseless” and an attempt to “change the subject,” but coverage may not matter, as the investigation into the Trump-Russia hoax is no longer about trying to change hearts and minds. Multiple sources say Gabbard’s team is focused on “accountability” by gathering evidence for court-ready cases.

Taibbi, as always, provides the best, thorough, fact-based reporting and analysis on this issue. Much it derived from the undisputed facts in simple uncomplicated form, including a detailed timeline, as presented by Gabbard’s office:

Taibbi explains:

Some of this timeline was known, but the sudden ditching of a tepid PDB and ordering of a new report “per the President’s request,” with emails conspicuously invoking “POTUS tasking,” never surfaced before. There is a reason many of the news reports about Gabbard’s releases have Obama’s name in the headline, along with the term “treasonous conspiracy.” The former president’s role in directing the reworked ICA is clearly a focus of Gabbard’s team.

The New York Post noted that members of the intelligence community later began to leak to the media that officials had “a high level of confidence” that Russia’s Vladimir Putin was personally involved in the “U.S. Election Hack” and Obama expressed public concerns about hacks affecting the vote counting process.

Still, while some of the details Gabbard has provided are new, much of the story isn’t.

As Newsmax reported:

Information released Friday showing that former President Barack Obama and his administration allegedly leaked information in what eventually became the “Russiagate” scandal in an attempt to stage a “coup” over President Donald Trump’s 2016 administration win is significant, but “not a bombshell,” Fred Fleitz, former National Security Council chief of staff under Trump, said on Newsmax Saturday.

“This has been known since 2017,” Fleitz told Newsmax’s “America Right Now.” “I’ve written about it extensively that a rigged intelligence report was rushed out before Trump’s inauguration, in which the intelligence agencies claim that the Trump campaign and Russia colluded, and that this report was designed to undermine the Trump presidency.”

That, said Fleitz, became a problem for Trump throughout his first term in office.

Still, Friday’s information release is important because it “gives context on how this happened and who was involved,” said Fleitz.

Will this new information lead to criminal charges for members of the Obama team? Despite the desperate counter spin by Democrats and their media cronies. a thorough investigation may lead to that.

Attorney General Pam Bondi launched a “strike force” to investigate the newly declassified intelligence findings that the Obama administration’s probe of Russian influence on the 2016 election was deeply flawed.

What Obama did was objectively bad, and possibly illegal (I don’t know precisely what statue(s) would be involved. IANAL). But it seems to not be *treason*. U.S. Constitution, in Article III, Section 3, defines treason as “levying war against [the United States], or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort.”. Dirty tricks, and acts against a political opponent are not “levying war” as I understand it. Nor did “Russiagate” help the Russians in any meaningful way. President Trump and his staff are right to be upset, offended and it is appropriate to shine a bright spotlight on these nefarious actors and procescute the offenders, where appropriate, to the full extent of the law. But we shouldn’t debase the language nor “overcharge”. Calling it treason seems beyond the pale to me.
