Epstein Maintained Multiple Storage Units That Authorities Reportedly Never Searched

Investigative reporting indicates that convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein maintained at least six storage units across the United States containing computers, photographs, and other materials that were reportedly never searched by authorities.

According to documents reviewed by The Telegraph and cited by multiple news outlets, Epstein leased storage lockers in Florida and New York beginning as early as 2003 and continuing through 2019, the year of his death in federal custody. Financial records show that rental payments were made up until his death, suggesting the contents were intentionally maintained.

The lockers may contain materials removed from Epstein’s various properties, including his private Caribbean island, Little Saint James. The documents reviewed indicate that computers, CDs, and other electronic media were transferred to storage before law enforcement raids took place. The Telegraph reported that authorities do not appear to have searched the units, leaving their contents unexamined.

Emails and internal correspondence cited in the investigation suggest that private investigators assisted in relocating sensitive materials into the storage facilities as law enforcement scrutiny intensified. Some communications indicate that computer drives may have been cloned during that process.

The Telegraph continues, detailing previously undisclosed correspondence between Epstein and the broader network surrounding him:

In August 2009, a month after his release from jail following a child sex offence conviction, Epstein received an email from a private investigator informing him that Virginia Giuffre had requested missing computer material.

Ms Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit in Florida in 2009 alleging that Epstein sexually abused her as a minor and trafficked her internationally.

On Aug 23 2009, Bill Riley – one half of the Riley Kiraly private detective agency that Epstein hired – emailed the financier and his lawyers: “Over the weekend I learned that plaintiff’s counsel are looking to get from me the computers and paperwork I took from Jeff’s house prior to the Search Warrant.

“I have them locked in storage and would like to know what to do with them. They are no longer needed in the criminal case, I assume. Is it possible to give you these items for your review and safekeeping or give it to Darren Indyke [Epstein’s lawyer] or back to Jeff, etc.?”

Riley goes on to state that the computer drives would be cloned, but there is no clear record of whether those copies were actually made.

The findings emerge amid continued scrutiny of the federal government’s handling of Epstein-related records.

Under the Epstein Files Transparency Act, Congress required the release of millions of pages of documents connected to the case. The Department of Justice has stated that it has released more than 3.5 million pages of documents, along with approximately 2,000 videos and 180,000 images, and that this constitutes substantial compliance with the law.

However, public estimates have suggested that the total volume of Epstein-related materials could approach 6 million pages. As of late January 2026, roughly half of those files remained withheld or redacted. (RELATED: Report: Only Roughly 2% Of Epstein Files Public As DOJ Says ‘All’ Released)

Officials with the FBI and the DOJ have not publicly confirmed whether the storage units were searched or whether any materials from them were collected. The existence of the lockers has renewed debate over whether additional investigative steps are warranted and whether all relevant evidence has been accounted for.
