Judge Orders Release of Body Cam Footage of Paul Pelosi’s Attack

-

A judge has ordered the release of police body cam footage from officers responding to the attack by a home intruder on 's husband.

Prosecutors sought to keep the recordings secret. San Francisco Superior Court Judge Stephen Murphy disagreed.

On Wednesday, Murphy granted a motion filed by 13 news organizations requesting the release of the evidence against Pelosi's alleged assailant.

The organizations included Fox News, The New York Times and The Washington Post.

The Daily Wire reports:

“[T]he public and press have standing to assert their rights of access to court records and proceedings,” the coalition argued in its court filing.

The body camera footage was reportedly played in court in December and showed an assailant striking Pelosi with a hammer.

Pelosi, husband to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), was attacked on October 28 by a nudist activist who broke into the Pelosi residence seeking to kidnap the then-House speaker, prosecutors said in a pretrial hearing. The activist, who prosecutors identified as 42-year-old , attacked Paul Pelosi after not being able to locate his wife.

DePape has pleaded not guilty on all charges, which include both state and federal charges. He is expected to appear in state court on February 23 to set a date for his trial. He is being held in jail without bail.

In October, American Liberty News reported on the preliminary investigation by the San Francisco Police Department:

Authorities responded to a “priority well-being check” at 2:27 am where they found Mr. Pelosi and David DePape, 42, who entered the residence through the back door before attacking Mr. Pelosi with a hammer.

San Francisco Police Chief William Scott said in a news conference, “The suspect pulled the hammer away from Mr. Pelosi and violently assaulted him with it. Our officers immediately tackled the suspect, disarmed him, took him into custody, requested emergency backup and rendered medical aid.”

Authorities have arrested DePape and charged him with attempted homicide and several other felony charges. Two of DePape's relatives told CNN that DePape is estranged from his family but grew up in Powell River, British Columbia, and left Canada about 20 years ago to pursue a relationship that brought him to California

Other sources who previously worked with DePape shared his behavior because increasingly worrisome over the past two years.

Pelosi, 82, suffered blunt force trauma to the head and other injuries. Reflecting on her husband's condition last week, the former House speaker told Chris Wallace that it would “take a little while for him to be back to normal.”

    • People who constantly work with this kind of stuff, and machines, are pretty smart nowadays, they can tell whether or not something has been cut out and spliced back together. We’ll hope for the best.

  1. …who wants to bet that the body camera footage has been manipulated, cut and limited to see only the alleged attack? I’m betting that there will be some “technical difficulties” with the video…and well…you know…”things happen”. Now they need to go after the CCTV footage of the security system.

    • Having worked for a police department that used bodycams and dash cams, I can say that the footage is by default time and date-stamped, so any editing or cutting out of portions will be evident by the timestamps on the video.

    • I agree and have made the bet too. But, no takers in my circles! There will be missing parts, interference, etc. The complete body camera footage will NOT be there! We may even find out it was turned off once officers arrived and realize it was Pelousy!

  2. Frankly, the “Official Narrative” raises far more questions than it does answers, so I applaud the Judges decision. Because of the “secrecy” that’s gone on, I question whether the footage has been altered though. All that time in the hands of the very people who created their nonsense narrative makes me wonder if it hasn’t been digitally altered to support their case. I don’t trust them. Any of them.
I still think this may have been some Kinky San Fran Butt Spelunking going on between DePape and Pelosi. Probably arguing over who got to slip the sausage to who.

  3. A disgruntled “Underwear Party Attendee” no doubt,Paul was supposed to play with his “Party Favors” for a little cash!

  4. It will be like on the X-Files episode when Agent Mulder taped the sharpied out shredded files salvaged from the CIAs dumpster. Next to useless.
