A Pennsylvania man accused of repeatedly threatening President Donald Trump, ICE agents, and members of Congress will remain in federal custody after a grand jury returned a five-count indictment against him.
Raymond Eugene Chandler III, 40, of Wilkinsburg, was indicted in Pittsburgh on charges of influencing, impeding, or retaliating against federal officials and federal law enforcement officers by threat, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
Prosecutors Allege Repeated Threats
Federal prosecutors say Chandler left voicemails for members of Congress between April 18, 2025, and May 1, 2026, tied to immigration enforcement, foreign conflicts, and income inequality.
The indictment alleges Chandler threatened to assault and murder ICE agents, a member of Congress, the member’s daughter, and President Trump. Prosecutors said he also discussed publishing personal information about ICE agents and claimed he had purchased bladed weapons.
One alleged voicemail included the statement: “Donald Trump deserves death.” Another allegedly told a lawmaker that Trump should be arrested, impeached, convicted, and killed.
Chandler had previously announced a long-shot campaign for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania, targeting the seat held by Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) according to Law&Crime:
The defendant has a website announcing his campaign for U.S. Senate in Pennsylvania to replace Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.). His listed goals on the page, such as “Tax the Billionaires,” “Fight Against Corruption,” and “Abolish ICE,” track with the wishes of the man quoted in the indictment — and his allegedly violent intentions to accomplish them.
“I support armed resistance against ICE. I want every agent dead,” Chandler said in a voicemail to an unidentified member of Congress on April 18, 2025, per the affidavit. “I am willing to go to war. I am willing to personally kill.”
Pennsylvania Democrat who announced a run for the Senate has been arrested and charged in federal court with threatening to kill President Trump and and a member of Congress’s family in a series of voicemails made in recent weeks.

On June 10, 2025, he allegedly went a step further.
“You must arrest the President. You must impeach him. You must convict him, and you must kill him for tyranny and treason,” the indictment reads.
According to federal prosecutors, the threatening voicemails continued into 2026. Court documents state that on Jan. 12, Chandler allegedly left a message declaring that “violence has become necessary” and calling for Trump’s death, arguing that only such an outcome could deliver justice.
Authorities say Chandler’s hostility toward the Trump administration appeared to intensify following U.S. military strikes on Iran. In an April 7 voicemail cited in court filings, he referenced the conflict while making a series of threats directed at a U.S. senator and the president. Prosecutors allege he also threatened to personally prosecute, convict, and execute the senator over what he characterized as war crimes.
Law&Crime previously reported that Chandler is additionally accused of threatening a family member of the lawmaker. Court records allege he described graphic violence against the representative, the representative’s daughter, and others close to the family.
Federal authorities further claim Chandler urged the lawmaker to be the person who fatally shot Trump.
The threats allegedly escalated again on May 1, when Chandler left a voicemail referencing the 1886 Haymarket Square bombing, an attack that resulted in the deaths of multiple police officers. Prosecutors say the message concluded with the statement, “I want you to be terrified.” FBI agents arrested Chandler later that day.
