Ohio Republican Stripped Of Leadership Position After Second Arrest

-

state Rep. (R-Green) has lost his leadership position in the Ohio House of Representatives following his second arrest related to domestic violence.

The Akron-area Republican allegedly broke a restraining order against him. Authorities charged Young with domestic violence and assault back in July.

Young faces three charges from the latest arrest: domestic violence, assault and violating a protection order.

The Ohio Capitol Journal reports:

Ohio lawmakers on each side of the aisle want state Rep. Bob Young, the Republican who is facing domestic violence charges and was just arrested again, to stop embarrassing the state and just resign.

He was in court Wednesday morning via livestream from Summit County Jail. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

After spending the night in jail, Young was released from custody under one condition.

“A GPS monitoring device which you are required to wear 24 hours a day, seven days a week until further order of the court,” Judge Edward O'Farrell told the lawmaker.

It's unclear if Young will return to the Ohio Statehouse with a monitoring device.

  1. As if we didn’t have enough problems this fool wasn’t smart enough to keep his hands off of his wife following his first arrest. I guess it isn’t just the democrats that have their heads up their ass.

  2. Your headline is inappropriate and not accurate.this guy was TWICE ruled for committing domestic violence. That’s why he got “booted” out.
