Washington, D.C. – The alleged thief who stole Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem’s Gucci purse last Sunday has been arrested. According to U.S. Attorney Ed Martin, the suspect is in the country illegally, adding to the drama surrounding the legal proceedings now underway.
ICE Steps In After Arrest
In the aftermath of the arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) swiftly intervened, as reported by the New York Post:
The suspect, whose identity was not immediately available, was busted by the DC Metro Police and the Secret Service, sources said.
The perp, who is believed to be part of a large east coast robbery crew, is expected to appear in court early next week as law enforcement hunt for his accomplice, sources said. Officials are also looking for a second suspect who is also reportedly an illegal migrant.
DC US Attorney Ed Martin noted it is unlikely Noem was targeted based on her high-profile position.
“There is no indication it was because of that,” Martin told NBC News.
“It was frankly, it was a nice looking purse,” he continued. “This was not an amateur. This was a person, a thief, that knew how to do this. You could see how he scouted the room out.”

Details of the Theft: Cash, Passport, Badge Stolen
The incident took place Easter night, 2025, at The Capital Burger — a well-known restaurant in Washington, D.C.
Key items stolen from Noem’s purse included:
-$3,000 in cash (meant for gifts and Easter festivities)
-Keys
-A U.S. Passport
-Her Homeland Security badge
This theft has drawn sharp attention to the growing security challenges facing top officials, especially as D.C. grapples with its worst crime wave in decades.
High-ranking officials, including Noem, are typically protected by security details from agencies like the U.S. Secret Service or private firms such as DMAC Security. These teams are responsible for staying vigilant in public settings, watching for potential threats ranging from theft to physical attacks.
In Noem’s case, it appears her security team may have underestimated the risk of a nonviolent crime in what seemed to be a secure environment.

Well, pretty sure that was a hard lesson learned 😉
Why would anyone carry $3000 in cash, especially in a lawless community like the Den of Thieves? I carry no cash, only a debit card, which can be immediately cancelled if lost/stolen.
Enough of the fake judges interfering. Ship every illegal alien back to their own points of origin as fast as possible. Come here legally or do not come at all. Who cares if the blanket of illegal aliens is what the dimwit nitwits need to have as voters to continue to steal elections. Or the cheap labor the other part of the open borders advocates. Ship them all out of the country and if they do not self deport, then as they are removed remind them they can’t even apply to ever come back legally ever!
So much for the BS that these people come to America to “work in fields and/or jobs that Americans won’t take.” So far it appears that ALL deportees are either gang members members or ORGGANIZED crime rings preying on innocent people.
