Authorities arrested an Arizona man accused of shooting three separate times at a Democratic National Committee (DNC) office in the Phoenix suburbs.
Tempe Police Department identified the suspect as Jeffrey Michael Kelly, 60, who was charged with multiple felonies, including committing acts of terrorism, misdemeanor criminal damage shooting at a non-residential structure, and unlawful discharge.
The latest incident occurred on Oct. 6 when gunshots were fired at the Arizona Democrats field office. The police said nobody was in the office at the time of the shooting. Another incident occurred in September, a few days before Harris visited Arizona, a key battleground state in the 2024 presidential election.
Arizona Democrats said earlier this month they would close the field office following the three shooting incidents.
Apart from charging Kelly for the three separate shootings targeting the DNC office, which shares space with Harris’s campaign’s office, he was also arrested for “hanging” suspicious bags of white powder on some political signs that were lined with razor blades in Ahwatukee, Ariz, the police said.
“We are grateful for the work of the Tempe Police Department and will continue to cooperate with investigators,” Sean McEnerney, the Arizona Democratic coordinated campaign manager for the Harris campaign, said in a statement to The Hill.
The shootings come as political violence has reached a fever pitch. Former President Donald Trump survived two separate attempts on his life this year.

Anyone else notice the conspicuous absence of the political affiliation of the (alleged’ shooter). You can bet that if he had been even remotely ‘right’ leaning that would have been in the first sentence or so.
