After hearing evidence presented by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, the Georgia special grand jury delivered a report recommending indictments for more individuals than Donald Trump and the 18 co-defendants who were eventually charged for their allegedly illegal effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election.
Three U.S. senators were recommended for indictment: Lindsey Graham, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler. Perdue and Loeffler lost their seats in the January 2021 Georgia runoff elections.
CNN notes:
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis did not charge Graham or Perdue when she returned an indictment last month against former President Donald Trump and 18 co-defendants in the sprawling racketeering case.
It was up to the district attorney to decide how closely to stick to the special grand jury’s recommendations.
According to the special grand jury report, there was significant dissent on the call to indict Graham, Loeffler and many of the false electors.
Graham testified before the special grand jury following a losing court battle last year. The South Carolina Republican spoke with Georgia election officials, including Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, after Trump narrowly lost the state.
CNN continues:
Raffensperger testified to the House January 6 committee that his phone call with Graham made him “uncomfortable” because some of Graham’s suggestions could have led to “disenfranchising voters.”
Graham repeatedly prodded Raffensperger and his colleagues on the phone about signature-matching of ballots in the Atlanta area. Raffensperger told CNN in November 2020 that he believed Graham “implied” that he should try to “throw out’ some ballots in the heavily Democratic county.
Graham denies any wrongdoing and disputes Raffensperger’s characterization of their calls.

Democrats and democrat appointed judges are using political party as a requisite to falsely charging Trump and other GOP members to rid themselves of opponents.
