Trump Aide Enters Not Guilty Plea In Mar-A-Lago Case

-

Former President 's valet, , pled not guilty to obstruction of justice and other charges connected to the ongoing Mar-A-Lago case.

Nauta, a former White House military valet, is facing charges on six counts in the case after he was spotted on security cameras moving boxes in and out of the storage room at Trump's residence according to The Hill.

The indictment accuses Nauta of conspiring with the former president to conceal records that the former president had taken with him from the White House after his term ended.

Court filings describe Nauta as moving boxes in advance of a visit by former Trump attorney Evan Corcoran, who was set to retrieve documents in order to comply with a subpoena from the Justice Department seeking the return of all records with classified markings.

Nauta is accused of coordinating with Trump to conceal the documents from Corcoran and investigators.

When Nauta appeared at the James Lawrence King Federal Justice Building with his Florida attorney, Sasha Dadan, the judge told the lawyer, “I'm very glad to see you here.”

Thursday's hearing lasted approximately five minutes.

Nauta was charged alongside Trump last month in an indictment alleging the mishandling of classified documents.
