ANALYSIS – While former President Donald Trump wasn’t at his best during his first, and likely only, debate with Vice President Kamala Harris, having the two liberal ABC moderators sabotaging him every step of the way, didn’t help.
And they did much of it under the guise of “fact-checking,” which is the left’s way of essentially making counterarguments to conservative opinions while pretending to be neutral.
So, as expected, David Muir and Linsey Davis spent all of Tuesday night’s debate “fact-checking” Trump’s comments while giving a free ride to Harris. Instead, they allowed Harris to lie with impunity and didn’t once “fact-check” any of the vice president’s widely debunked claims.
Donald Trump Jr. blasted the so-called fact-checker moderators on X for only fact-checking his dad, not Harris.
“Weird how the hack moderators at @abcnews are only ‘Fact checking’ Trump and allowing Kamala to lie nonstop,” he posted.
This meant Trump had to debate the ABC hosts while Harris was able to just attack. A classic tag team against Trump.
Ann Coulter noted: “it’s great to have 3 Democrats debating Trump tonight. Thanks, ABC!”
And many viewers were rightly furious.
Megyn Kelly blasted Muir and Davis, writing: “These moderators are a disgraceful failure, and this is one of the most biased, unfair debates I have ever seen. Shame on you @ABC.”
Commentator Noah Pollak posted on X: “ABC hosts embarrassing themselves protecting Harris from having to answer whether she supports partial birth late term abortions.”
But did any other major media outlets notice the bias or complain? Of course not.
They shamelessly said it only seemed unfair because Trump is supposedly a much bigger liar.
As Newsmax reported:
Muir and Davis debated Trump multiple times on their denial of facts on abortion, migrants in Ohio, crime, the 2020 election, Jan. 6, and the Russia-Ukraine war.
Harris not being fact-checked was not an issue for the mainstream media. NPR claimed the fact-checking “was not a reflection of bias; it was because of just how many things Trump said there were blatantly false.”
But it went beyond only “fact-checking” Trump.
The Daily Wire noted:
The bias manifested itself in several ways, from asking Trump more hostile “gotcha” questions than they asked Harris to pressing Trump with follow-up questions while allowing Harris to evade answering questions with no follow-up to fact checking Trump while allowing Harris to lie with impunity.
ABC News’ left-wing bias was on full display during the network’s pre-debate coverage, with media analyst Stephen L. Miller noting: “ABC’s pre-debate coverage might as well be The View right now. It’s insane.”
But the partisan ABC News hacks may have gone too far.
As Megyn Kelly noted: “The pile-on against Trump is so bad and so obvious this will backfire.” Many viewers likely agree.

Muir and Davis were unabashedly biased and unprofessional. I wouldn’t be surprised if Muir and Davis had a rehearsal with the Harris gang (or should I say the Obama gang) and were told how to handle the debate. I will never watch ABC again. I suspect Muir was promised a promotion if he would just throw away his remaining morsel of moral decency and step just a little more into the gutter. What a slime.

Why on earth did Trump allow this debate on ABC? He should have known better. The one thing Harris did effectively was to push his huge ego button. Trump needs to understand that he will take down hundreds of Republicans with him if he doesn’t put his huge ego in the trash. He definitely is a narcissist and that will be his undoing and unfortunately, the nations.

I am writing today to express my deep and profound outrage at the disgraceful debate your network hosted.
Your moderators were biased, vicious, and completely unfair.
They let Kamala lie nonstop, but constantly “fact-checked” President Trump.
It was ELECTION INTERFERENCE. Plain and simple.
I am demanding that you take action to discipline your biased hosts.
And I demand you apologize to President Trump and the millions of voters like me who you disrespected so viciously.
I will never forget what your network did. I will never trust your network again, and most importantly, I will never watch your network again!
I hope you reflect on the damage this disgrace of a debate has done to your network’s reputation, though I doubt you will.
The real debate will be on November 5th, and there is no amount of bias that can stop America from reelecting President Trump in a landslide!

Yes, Harris was well prepared, Trump missed a couple of opportunities and it was 3 against 1. The biggest loser was ABC. Those who know both candidates and are honest will admit Harris lied and presented no details on supposed plans while Trump restated past arguments and bragged with little detail on how. That said, Harris did much better than expected. The choice is clear: more government vs less government, unlimited abortions vs state options except on rape and incest, open border vs restricted border, expanded supreme court vs current supreme court, stronger defense vs weaker defence, current tariffs vs more tariffs, bigger deficits vs lower deficits, force EV vs support oil, No one can agree to the same degree on all of these. I just hope voting is legitimate and voters understand the real differences between all candidates not just what they say to get elected.
There is no doubt in my mind that Harris had the questions ahead of time
This was not a debate. It was a question and answer session. Harris was perfectly rehearsed
