ANALYSIS – As Democrats throw massive temper tantrums over the busing and flying of illegal migrants to far-left ‘sanctuary cities' by Republican governors, Americans are again paying attention to the massive crisis on our southern border.
And most don't like what they see.
Under Joe Biden, for the first time ever, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has arrested over two million migrants crossing illegally into the United States in the past 11 months alone. The final number is expected to reach 2.5 million for the fiscal year.
And while the media and Democrat operatives divert attention by attacking Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for ‘mistreating' the 50 migrants he flew to Martha's Vineyard, under Biden's watch, almost 800 migrants have died attempting to cross the southern border since last October.
But it isn't just migrants who are suffering. Americans are being increasingly threatened by terrorists, criminals and drugs due to Biden's border chaos.
First is the mushrooming number of potentially dangerous terrorists coming through our border.
According to Customs and Border Protection statistics, the U.S. Border Patrol has seen a massive spike in southern border encounters with people on the U.S. terror watchlist between ports of entry. (RELATED: Biden's Border ‘Invasion' – Middle Eastern Terrorists Pretending to Be Mexicans Enter US)
CBP personnel came across individuals on the watchlist 78 times in those areas between October and August, the data reveals.
That is triple the previous five years combined — when federal law enforcement officers encountered 26 individuals.
Specifically, this is in stark contrast to the two arrested in 2017, six in 2018, zero in 2019 and three in 2020. The number started ramping up under Biden in 2021, with 15 from the terror watch list being arrested that year.
And then there are the dangerous criminals.
In a letter by 14 House Republicans to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Venezuela (similar to Fidel Castro's efforts during the 1980 Mariel boatlift) is deliberately releasing prisoners, among them violent criminals, and sending them to the U.S. southern border.
The Epoch Times reports that:
Rep. Troy Nehls (R-Texas), who is leading the Republican effort to have Mayorkas answer questions, said in the Sept. 22 letter that the decision by the Nicolas Maduro regime has put the United States “in grave danger.”
“We write you with serious concern about a recent U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) intelligence report received by Border Patrol that instructs agents to look for violent criminals from Venezuela among the migrant caravans heading towards the U.S.-Mexico border,” the letter says, citing a recent report from Breitbart.
The outlet reported on Sept. 18 that it had reviewed the DHS intelligence report from an unnamed source within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP). The report warned that released prisoners—including those convicted of murder, rape, and extortion—had been seen within migrant caravans traveling from Tapachula, Mexico, to the southern border, as recently as July.
The report also said the Bolivarian National Intelligence Service, Venezuela's intelligence agency, may have played a role in deliberately releasing prisoners.
Nehls later went on Twitter to announce that Biden's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) had confirmed this is happening.
“DHS confirms that Venezuela empties prisons and sends violent criminals to our southern border,” Nehls wrote.
And finally, there are the deadly illegal drugs.

The Department of Justice announced August 11:
In the first nine months of FY 2022 (October through June), U.S. Customs and Border Protection law enforcement agencies in San Diego and Imperial counties (CBP Field Operations and Border Patrol) seized 5,091 pounds of fentanyl – which amounts to about 60 percent of the 8,425 pounds of fentanyl seized around the entire country. But they only got worse after June. The numbers for August set yet another monthly record, topping July, which was already the worst month so far.
In late August, Border Patrol agents seized $4.3 million in Fentanyl near Gila Bend, Arizona.
As the DOJ noted: “Mexican cartels are increasingly manufacturing fentanyl for distribution and sale in the United States. Precursors are imported from China and other countries and then pressed into pills, powder or mixed into other drugs at massive, industrial-scale labs.” (RELATED: China Working With Drug Cartels to Keep Flooding US With Opioids)
Meanwhile, cocaine seizures were up 193%, becoming the second-highest month in CBP's four-year records.
The more that's being caught, means the more that's getting through.
And all this is probably the reason that a majority of Americans believe Mexican drug cartels have more control over the southern border than the U.S. government.
National Review (NR) reports that according to a poll published Thursday by RMG Research:
Sixty-one percent of registered voters surveyed said that cartels had greater control of the border, compared to 19 percent who said the government has more control. Twenty percent of respondents were “not sure.”
… The majority of voters surveyed, 54 percent, responded that the federal government is not “seriously trying to secure the border and reduce illegal immigration.”
And that poll shows even more that should worry Democrats, reports NR:
Sixty percent of voters said the “failure of the federal government to secure the southern border” is a bigger problem that governors like Ron DeSantis sending illegal immigrants to Martha's Vineyard, and 63 percent said it is “hypocritical” for sanctuary cities, like Martha's Vineyard, to complain when illegal immigrant are sent there.
NR concludes:
A new CRC Research poll shared exclusive with National Review showed that 63 percent of those surveyed said that sanctuary cities like Chicago, New York City, and Washington, D.C., should share the burden of having illegal immigrants with border states.
It appears Texas Governor Greg Abbott and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis' migrant ‘stunts' are paying off. Americans are again seeing the grave dangers posed by Biden's border crisis.

I love the delivery of illegal aliens to leftist enclaves such as Martha’s Vineyard. For too long, the left has told us that illegal aliens are just coming here for a better life, blah blah blah, and that we’re racist for not wanting them coming across the border. Those leftists have absolutely no empathy at all for the people who have to deal with increased crime, rampant drug trafficking, increased taxes for dealing with issues arising from illegal immigration, or even the people being trafficked by the millions across the border. Perhaps they will learn a little empathy from the dumping of a tiny fraction of those illegal aliens on their doorstep. It’s time to point out to leftist elitists that they have been perfectly okay with OTHER people having to deal with illegal incursions, as long as they are personally not affected.
Stopping illegal border crossings is neither racist nor uncaring. It is not fair to the citizens of the US to keep burdening them with the South American and Mexican problems of extreme poverty and criminality. The governments of our southern neighbors are responsible for their citizens, not us.

Why would a government deliberately allow uncontrolled entry of known terrorists, vicious criminals, and people who have not been SCREENED for diseases that have not previously appeared in this country? Our elected officials are supposed to enforce the laws NOT abandon them. Governing includes ENSURING the health and survival of the nation, but these DEMONS are deliberately trying to CRASH the system. FAA would call this “Controlled Flight Into TERRAIN.”
It becomes increasingly clear that the incumbents intend to cripple the national economy and so impoverish the middle class, that Government can do any damn thing it wants, and no one will have the means to even protest, much less resist.
Millions of foreign nationals have risked their lives to come to our shores, hoping to enjoy the protections and freedoms our Constitution guarantees. Correction: USED to guarantee.
The migrants arriving now, legitimate and otherwise, will see pretty quickly they are regarded as nothing but cannon fodder by the supremely Cynical Left. These people who come filled with hope of a better life will find they are treated worse by our government than they were in the countries they left.
I would send them to every sanctuary city there was in the USA. They are the ones that wanted them so load them up.
Good report Paul. One additional thing to remember, the 2.5M number is only 1 of the 3 total numbers. There are also the number that went to a port of entry and surrendered as well as the number that were never encountered. These 3 add up to ~4M in FY22. That’s more than the individual populations of 23 of the 50 states.

Invade Mexico 6 miles deep and expel everyone living there south and seal the new border under a Emergency National Security Declaration using US troops.
Any resistance? Then go another 6 miles, and 6 more until you get to the Panama Canal.
Then the border and moat will be very manageable.
