A growing number of Republicans are calling on former President Trump and his supporters to tone down their rhetoric against the FBI. Their calls for moderation come as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a warning about the number of threats to law enforcement after Attorney General Merrick Garland approved a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago.
Fox News host Steve Doocy called on the former president on “Fox & Friends” to demand an end to the “violent rhetoric” against the FBI. On CBS, House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) described Trump's language as “inflammatory.”
Per The Hill:
“I don't want to put any law enforcement in the bull's-eye of a potential threat,” McCaul said.
The bulletin issued by DHS and the FBI cited an incident in which a man armed with an AR-15-style rifle allegedly fired a nail gun into an FBI office in Cincinnati last week, according to NBC News. He was fatally shot by police after a chase and standoff, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Trump on Monday in an interview with Fox News did say the temperature on the issue needed to come down, adding that he'd told aides to reach out to the Department of Justice to help.
But in the same interview, Trump directed his wrath at the Justice Department and suggested that his supporters' anger was justified. Trump said that Americans are “not going to stand for another scam,” said that the FBI can “break into a president's house” in a “sneak attack” and suggested that the FBI “could have planted anything they wanted” during the search.
Over the weekend, barriers were erected around the FBI headquarters in Washington. Another reminder of the divisions in our country.

I spoke with a retired FBI Special Agent and he said in the past the FBI was always at arms length from DOJ but now they are treated as lackeys. The rank and file are wonderful and dedicated. It is the leadership of both agencies who are corrupted and political .

When the DOJ and FBI become more and more corrupt what are Americans supposed to do, sit back and let them do whatever they want? That’s what happened in Germany before WWII. The brown shirts started pushing people around but eventually, after 4 years of war, they were no longer in control. That seems to be what our country is headed toward. The people don’t like the idea of Nazis running our country.

Calling for an end to the violent rhetoric is a good idea. But let’s be clear, the FBI and DOJ are corrupt and acting badly. So, if you want the temperature to go down we need our representatives to show they have a spine and make it clear they are going to clean house. So far, all I’ve heard is a few of them say, ‘Well, if you put us in power we’ll do something.’ That’s pretty weak!
Violence is not the answer to the issues with this agency and their overlords, the DOJ. The best way to effectively deal with their problems is for everyone to get out and vote the demoRATS out of office in the very next election. Then let the new leadership clean out the highly politicized upper echelons of each department. Fire them or administratively reassign them to menial positions where they have no authority.

It was revered when I was growing up, now it is despised. They don’t want to called out and threatened, yet, when the SCOTUS homes were being threatened , the FBI sat on its hands. I don’t believe that Trump supporters are threatening the FBI; I believe that it’s Leftists doing it to make us look bad. That said, I believe the FBI needs to be cleaned out from the top down, same with the DOJ, and the rest of the alphabet agencies.
DHS is a bigger threat than the FBI. Mayorkas wanted a KGB style disinformation department within DHS to spy in on anyone and everyone suspected of being a Trump supporter. He thinks he’s Heinick Himmler. Garland thinks he’s Adolph Hitler.
Might say the increased division in this country is exacerbated by the political majority, aided by DOJ and FBI who are enabled by the President, his lackeys and the congressional majority. I think a little less encouraging or tacit approval from the left would go a long way.

What threats? I have only heard of nebulous comments about how the FBI is exceeding its bounds and specifically targeting Conservatives while ignoring the malfeasance beinf committed by Democrats. The only complaints I’ve been seeing are the ones adsking that the FBI be fair in their investigations.
