A 20-year Green Beret veteran has received a seven-year prison sentence followed by three years of supervised release in a case that emerged from an investigation into his involvement in the U.S. Capitol riot.
U.S. District Judge Susan Bucklew recently sentenced Jeremy Brown following a December conviction on six counts for possessing illegal weapons and classified documents. The Tampa Bay Times reported at the time that the documents were so sensitive jurors were instructed on how to view copies of them properly. They included a report on tactics to reduce the threat of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in Afghanistan.
Brown, who retired as a master sergeant in 2012, also faces charges for participating in the Jan. 6 riot. Court records link him to the anti-government Oath Keepers militia.
The Tampa Bay Times reports:
The prison sentence, which totaled 87 months, came after the judge spoke of Brown’s 20 years of service as a Green Beret, but also his actions since his retirement, which she said demonstrated Brown put himself above the law.
“You’ve accepted no responsibility for what you’ve done in this case,” Bucklew said. “And you are defiant to the end.”
Clad in baggy orange pants and an orange jail shirt, Brown addressed the judge for close to 15 minutes before he was sentenced. In lofty rhetoric that detailed his military background and referenced the words of Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, the Declaration of Independence and the judge’s own legal career, Brown accused the government of deceiving the court and targeting him.
“My service cannot be tarnished by lesser men,” he said, looking at the prosecutors.
Law enforcement searched Brown’s home last year, where officers found a CD containing the classified documents, a pair of illegal guns and two hand grenades.
While awaiting trial, Brown ran an unsuccessful campaign for the Florida House of Representatives.

The true story is the actions of a criminal organization that is running this country, that is inspired by communism and promoted by the democratic party. Their agenda is to control this country by force and fear. The fear is, if you go against their agenda you will pay the price. This applies to whistle blowers, patriots and anyone that sees the absolute insanity that is covering this nation that is now and rapidly becoming nothing like it was. A nation of freedom and opportunity. Once the greatest nation on this planet. The agenda is to separate by race eliminate independence and suppress reliance on God. The good news is God is in control and things are just as it should be. The Bible states before the end of this age things will become just like they were in the days of Noah, sextual depravity, mob rule thru violence and control by the elite only. The truth is in the end God wins and it is soon to happen.
This God-anointed nation has long forsaken the principles of God. It will no longer stand behind the genuine patriots who have sacrificed so dearly on its behalf, to embrace instead the transgressors of God’s precepts, to embrace the delusional abortionist, the trans activist, the promoters of crime. And it will demonize Jews and Christians, the best hope that we have to redeem ourselves, on the shaky grounds that we will not permit every gender, ‘medical’ or reproductive outrage. Mark my words: if this trend continues, this nation will FALL and nobody will want us anymore, not even as slaves.
We are witnessing a taste of God’s wrath. His wrath will only get more pronounced as depravity progresses. His church will not be present for the full occurrence of His wrath. Be aware that if you know anyone that is not part of His church they will go through the tribulation and pay with there life to enter into Heaven. Our job now is to preach the gospel of God until then.
And live it.
