Trump Releases Private Messages From European Leaders Ahead Of Davos

President Donald J. Trump stoked fresh tensions overnight after leaking private messages from key European leaders — including NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and French President Emmanuel Macron — on his Truth Social feed.

Rutte’s note lavished praise on U.S. efforts in Syria, Gaza, and Ukraine and said he’d highlight Trump’s work at the World Economic Forum. Macron’s message echoed cooperation on Syria and Iran but bluntly added: “I do not understand what you are doing on Greenland.” He also floated a G7 meeting in Paris after Davos to discuss broader issues.

European leaders have unequivocally rejected the idea that Greenland is for sale and have stepped up military cooperation in the Arctic amid what Denmark calls an “unacceptable pressure” campaign.

Reactions on X were mixed, with some users portraying the disclosures as flattering evidence of European praise and others warning that such actions risk undermining NATO cohesion amid Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine and strategic competition with China.

The tensions coincide with increased NATO activity in the Arctic, including allied deployments under frameworks such as Icelandic air policing at Keflavik Air Base — part of broader efforts to monitor airspace in the region amid growing great-power competition.

Now all eyes are on Davos, where European and U.S. officials are bracing for sharp rhetoric from Trump on Wednesday that could further strain alliances and dominate the annual global forum.

USA should not buy Greenland. Greenland should be gifted to the USA…before Europe is gifted to Russia. lol
