‘Worm and Weasel’ – King Charles Bans Harry and Andrew From Wearing Military Uniforms at Queen’s Funeral

-

OPINION – While I don't usually engage in ‘royals watching' or commenting on them, the fact that newly installed King Charles banned his disgraced brother and wayward son from wearing their military uniforms at the Queen's funeral caught my attention. Apparently, this also caught the attention of a lot of people on the internet.

According to one military expert: “This decision will have been taken at the highest level,” meaning Charles himself. “There is no other way of looking at it but as a firm put down.”

The King's decision means that both Prince Harry and Prince Andrew will be the only adult Royals in civilian morning suits for the huge ceremony, at Westminster Abbey, on Monday, September 19.

Some Harry fans were aghast that Charles would deny his son the opportunity to wear his uniform to his grandmother's funeral after his well-documented 10-year army career, and especially considering the queen's pride in her grandson's service.

The Telegraph's associate editor Camilla Tominey called it a “petty” move.

The queen's pride was evident in a photo taken during the Sovereign's Parade at the Royal Military Academy in Sandhurst in 2006 where the queen is seen beaming at Harry.

Unlike other uniform-wearing, bemedaled Royals, Harry actually saw active service during his two tours of Afghanistan from 2007 to 2008 and from 2012 and 2013 – something I always respected.

Less controversial was Charles banning Andrew from wearing his uniform, even though he also saw active service, flying helicopters in the 1982 Falklands war.

Andrew's close ties to convicted billionaire sex trafficker Jeffery Epstein have made him radioactive among the royal family and the public at large. (RELATED: Britain's Prince Andrew Stripped of All Titles as Epstein Accuser's Suit Proceeds)

Even though the Queen stripped them both of their military titles, Harry's situation is different.

Harry had to give up his appointments when he voluntarily stepped away from his royal duties and moved to with his whiny, woke, attention-seeking, ex- wife, Meghan Markle.

While not as vile as Andrew's actions, their constant attention-grabbing at the royal family's expense has made Harry a bit of a royal pariah as well.

And rightfully so.

Harry is expected to soon publish his autobiography and many worry that Harry will use the memoir to air more grievances against his family and father and his stepmother, Camilla, the queen consort.

Harry's behavior has been horrendous, and his wife's even worse.

Still, some argue that Harry is being treated unfairly, especially since Charles granted Andrew an exception to wear his Royal Navy dress uniform for a single event related to the funeral, a final vigil at Westminster Hall.

Andrew was reportedly given this one exception because he was the Queen's son, and this small vigil is for the queen's children only – Harry isn't included.

So, while I may have preferred no exception be made to his uniform ban, there is some logic to that.

Do I think Charles was right to ban Harry and Andrew from wearing their uniforms for the funeral?

Absolutely.

One is a worm, the other a weasel. Guess which is which.

Andrew disgraced himself and his family, especially his mother, through his connection to Epstein.

And Harry brought untold anguish to his grandmother, the queen, with his incessant whining and publicity-seeking nonsense at the family's expense.

Both lost their right to wear their uniforms. Charles did the right thing. ALD

  1. Communism at full swing under Merrick yet don’t touch the corrupt bidens, their pay to play federal violations their 150 plus kickback cks, from Chinese communist to the biden crime family, turn a blind eye now, because after the midterms comes the special prosecutor office.

  2. part of harry’s ‘divorce’ deal with the royal family was resigning all of his military commissions/commitments in perpetuity, which was included in andrew’s punishment/retirement from public/working royal life as well. despise charles, but good on him for maintaining those consequences.

  3. I’ve always thought the whole “royals” thing in Great Britain was a bit silly except for the royal ladies and their cool hats. For a quick primer on royal ceremonies and traditions, I recommend the South Park episode of the marriage of the Prince and Princess of Canada on You Tube.

  4. I am so happy King Charles has taken charge right away! I am a Brit and believe he is right to have taken the privilege of wearing their uniforms and parading their medals away from both Andrew and Harry. While my late Queen is no longer here in our world I’m sure she is smiling at His Majesty King Charles, her oldest son, for taking immediate control of his family.

    • Prince Harry did fully agree after all (did he not?) to forfeit all royal and military honours and privileges when he chose to abandon his royal duties and to inhabit the prison of his honey trap enticement. I was not there but I did read about such forfeiture in the press.

    • Only in Britain, the “royals’ of The DC swamp are seemingly forever immune to consequences. I’m looking at you Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, Biden, Hillary Clinton, all Obama appointees, The FBI TOP dogs….. the list goes on. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW they chirp, as they laugh at how THEY are above the law.

  5. it’s about time both Harry and Andrew had to pay the Piper – Harry’s wife is a total narcissistic, patholigical liar who has spewed vicious BS for several years at all of the family. Maybe Harry will wake up and divorce her…I doubt it because of the children – but Meghan was a vile b–tch/curse to the Queen – Meghan’s BS of racism is the farthest thing from the truth!was treated with kid gloves – Charles even walked her down the aisle.

  6. “Randy” Andy disgraced his mother (& his uniform, with his” conduct unbecoming”) long before his connections to Epstien, but this author is likely too young to remember those events (check the tabloids). I believe he & Harry both forfeit their rights to wear those uniforms in public. In Harry’s case, I think his wife is more at the root of his disagreements with the family, although his father is far from innocent there…

  7. Sad, because both Harry and Andrew wore their uniforms in real world combat situations before they fell out of grace…

  8. Mr. Crespo, is spot-on! Both Andrew and Harry has done a grave and a dispecapable service to their Family and the Crown. Unfortunately, Harry is so lead by his wife that he cannot get his head on straight! Most likely, Harry should not have married an American woman, as many do not understand English Royalty! If Prince Phillip wasn’t too keen on her, maybe Harry should have observed his Grandfather!
