A swatting hoax targeting Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene’s home in north Georgia has led to a devastating car crash involving local authorities.
On Monday, Greene took to social media to disclose that her residence had been the target of a bomb threat. She shared that the Rome Police Department’s assistant chief received the threat via email, prompting a bomb squad to investigate.
“Since being elected to Congress, I have been swatted at least nine times—deliberate attempts to provoke a deadly police response through false and highly exaggerated threats,” Greene stated.
Swatting is a dangerous tactic where false emergency reports are filed to elicit a heavy-handed police response. These incidents not only waste critical law enforcement resources but also put lives at risk. Tragically, swatting can have fatal consequences, as seen in the 2017 case of Andrew Finch, who was shot and killed by police responding to a false hostage report.
The stakes are even higher during late-night or early morning responses, where startled residents may react unpredictably to law enforcement’s sudden presence.

While responding to the bomb threat, a Rome Police Department officer with the Floyd County Bomb Squad was involved in a traffic collision en route to Greene’s residence. The accident resulted in the death of 66-year-old Tammie Pickelsimer, who succumbed to her injuries after being transported to a hospital. The officer involved was not critically injured, according to a spokesperson for the Rome Police Department.
Greene expressed deep sorrow for the loss of life and extended her concern for the injured officer.
“I’m heartsick right now. I was just informed that an innocent woman died today in an auto accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was responding to the threat at my home,” the congresswoman tweeted.
“These violent political threats have fatal consequences. They place an undue strain on our law enforcement, who must treat them seriously,” she added. “The officer was responding to protect my life. And now, a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act.”
Expressing further condolences, Greene said: “My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured, and the entire Rome Police Department.”
The Georgia Republican also expressed rage: “I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m also angry. This should have never happened, and I pray it never happens again.”

Authorities are still investigating the case, but they’ve shared email screenshots that reveal chilling details about the threats against Greene. According to the evidence, the messages appear to have come from a source connected to a Russian IP address.
The email began with the phrase “for Palestine” and claimed a pipe bomb had been planted in Greene’s mailbox.
“It is set to go off during the weekend but it would also explode the next time anybody opens the mailbox,” the threat read, as seen in the screenshots.
The message continued with a sinister tone, saying, “Even if Marjorie does not open the mailbox herself I’m satisfied with the prospect of some pig cops losing their lives or being injured.” It ended with the words, “VIVA VIVA PALESTINA.”
Local and federal agencies, including the FBI, are now working to trace the origins and motives behind the threat.
An FBI spokesperson from the Atlanta division explained to Newsweek: “After the residence was cleared by Rome Police, the FBI was brought in to assist in identifying who made the bomb threat. We have no further information at this time, as it is an ongoing investigation.”
They added, “The FBI remains vigilant and continues to work closely with our state and local partners to address threats to the public, including those targeting specific individuals.”
This incident adds to a growing number of bomb threats and swatting calls targeting political figures in recent weeks. Notably, several Democratic lawmakers and President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees were also targeted last month.

Can’t emails be tracked. The person behind the email should be up on murder charges, meaning, tracked down and put in jail. A person is dead due to that person sending that email not the police going to the house. Murder has all kinds of death being a result of an action. This is one way murder is a result of an action and is definitely murder.
So in our world of “I CAN SEE YOU” why hasn’t local or even Federal Law enforcement located, charged and convicted these A _ _ holes?
Want to know why “We the People” need the 2nd Amendment? Here’s your sign!
Law enforcement can not protect us as they are first responders, mostly untrained to handle this type of activity, stress and situation; if they were provided the training then LEO Training School would be years instead of months, how about waking up!
When someone sins there is always a price to pay. It does not matter if they are guilty or innocent, someone always pays for the sin of another. Depending upon the mindset of who perpetrated the incident, they are either gloating, or we can hope their conscious is bothering them, and perhaps prevent them from doing that again.
