Melania Trump Addresses Jan. 6 for First Time

-

has broken her silence about the events of Jan. 6.

Melania's comments come after her former Chief of Staff and Press Secretary shared a screenshot of an alleged text from the then-first lady saying she didn't want to sign off on a statement denouncing the Capitol riot. Speaking to Digital, Melania said that if her advisers had fully appraised her of the situation at the Capitol then she “would have immediately denounced the violence.”

Fox News has more on the exclusive interview:

“On January 6, 2021, I was fulfilling one of my duties as First Lady of the United States of America, and accordingly, I was unaware of what was simultaneously transpiring at the U.S. Capitol Building,” Trump told Fox News Digital.

“As with all First Ladies who preceded me, it was my obligation to record the contents of the White House's historic rooms, including taking archival photographs of all the renovations. Several months in advance, I organized a qualified team of photographers, archivists, and designers to work with me in the White House to ensure perfect execution,” she continued. “As required, we scheduled January 6, 2021, to complete the work on behalf of our Nation.”

The former first lady added that “this is a very significant undertaking and requires great care, attention to detail, and concentration—both in the planning and execution.”

Trump went on to say that she has “always been very supportive of my former Chief of Staff, Stephanie Grisham.”

She notably added that she “stood behind Ms. Grisham after her failed stint as White House Press Secretary and welcomed her back to the East Wing.” A pointed jab alluding to Grisham's time in that role after Sarah Sanders left and before the president tapped Kayleigh McEnany to serve as the next press secretary.

The former first lady then went on to blame Grisham for allegedly not keeping her informed of that day's events, adding that Grisham “was not in the White House” that day and that her behavior constituted a “dereliction of duty.”

Melania continued, “It is evident that Grisham's recent betrayals are a last-ditch attempt to resuscitate her ruined career and reputation.”

Grisham's tweet came one day after former Mark Meadows assistant Cassidy Hutchinson testified before the Jan. 6 Committee.

  1. Another spoiled and disgruntled employee who is trying to make a name for herself, like Hutchinson. Who would trust her now? She needs to go home to her mommy.

  2. First off, the Speaker of the House is responsible for the security of the Capital building. President Trump offered military help, to secure the Capital grounds, before the fact, but was turned down for said help by the Speaker. Second, President Trump called for a peaceful demonstration in front of the capital, not an invasion. So Nancy Pelosi is the person who was responsible for the security and was not even present in the building. She turned down help from the White House to help secure the Capital building, and now is trying to fixate her failures to do so on President Trump who was not there and would not be allowed by the Secret Service to jeopardize his safety to help quell the violence happening on the Capital grounds. The person who should be investigated here is the Speaker, not President Trump for failing to do her job.

  3. The Flak is heaviest when you are over the real target. Trump has taken heavy flak for 7 years now. Clearly there are those who are protecting their rears.

    • IMHO: When the target is an over crowded outhouse, the odor gets pretty intense as well. Wear your gas mask with the Biden Sh!t filter. Need double filtering when Schiff, Pelosi, and Schumer are running their tail end mouths.

    • I was in agreement with you but they unconstitutionally censored my remark so there must have been something in it the liberal censors didn’t like. Too bad. Next stop is bottom of page to unsubscribe to an unconstitutional left leaning site. Bye.

  4. Former Attorney General William Barr, who was widely viewed as one of Trump’s most loyal Cabinet members, has said repeatedly that the claims of widespread voter fraud are “bulls**t.”

    • I believe your statement needs some correction. The words “Barr” and “Trump’s most loyal” should not be in the same sentence.

      • So true Barr betrayed the man who put him there for fear of Bush his former boss who hated Trump when his brother didn’t get the nomination for Pres. Sad

    • There is tons of evidence of the fraudulent votes, just count the total votes and then count the total people in the country! Major difference so don’t try to lie and say it was fraudulent! Americans know better!

  5. Trump didn’t do anything wrong. And he surely didn’t grab a man from the back of that car to choke him, unless he is like that man with the stretch arms and legs. It is just another thing for the Democrats to throw out there just like they have been doing since before he was President and after he left. Just like their rigged all Democrat party up there trying to mess with him again.

  6. Jan 6 was a coo planned and executed by the Dems in another attempt to oust and defame Trump .
