As a partial government shutdown drags on and airport wait times worsen nationwide, a new flashpoint has emerged between federal immigration authorities and a prominent progressive prosecutor.
President Donald Trump warned last week that he could deploy Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents to U.S. airports to arrest illegal immigrants if Democrats refuse to meet his budget demands to end the shutdown. Republicans have pushed for full Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding, while Democrats have advocated for narrower measures that would fund agencies like the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) without supporting immigration enforcement operations.
George Soros-backed Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner on Wednesday threatened to arrest agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) deployed to the city’s airport to help with security amid Transportation Security Administration (TSA) staffing shortages.
“This is how it works. You commit crimes within the jurisdiction that is the city and county of Philadelphia, I prosecute you. That is how it works. No, I don’t take a phone call from president saying, ‘Let them go.’ No, the president cannot pardon you,” Krasner said during a Wednesday press conference.
“I’ll say it again. The president cannot pardon you. And yes, I will put you in handcuffs and I will put you in a courtroom and, if necessary, I will put you in a jail cell if you decide to make the terrazzo floor of this airport, anything like what you did in the streets of Minneapolis, which involved the criminal homicide of unarmed, innocent people. We are not having that,” he added.
Without directly commenting on Krasner’s remarks, the White House lambasted separate comments from Krasner as he stood in front of a “Wooder Ice” mural for a video message.
Backed by ominous music, Krasner said Philadelphians enjoy Water Ice because it “doesn’t break the law [nor] bother us at an airport.” The “Rapid Response 47” team called Krasner’s video “sick and deranged,” adding, “If you don’t like it, Larry, tell your fellow Democrats to fund DHS.”
Krasner also noted during his airport remarks that there are law-abiding agents within DHS ranks.
“I have a message for the good people, and there are a lot of good people [in] ICE… Keep your oath. Uphold the United States Constitution. Uphold the laws. It does not matter whether I personally approve of policies that you are following,” Krasner began, adding he believes DHS’ “mass deportations” are “immoral.”
“To any agent who might think of doing in an illegal way, I’ll be seeing you in court and you’re not going to like it because a Philly jury is not going like what you did if it is illegal.”
Krasner’s comments come as other top Democrats have denounced ICE’s presence in airports, including remarks from one senator who claimed people will die because of them.
“ICE agents at airports will only aggravate delays & lines — disrupting checks, interrogating travelers, dragging parents from children, detaining citizens, brutalizing families, shooting & even killing,” Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal wrote on X.
“Brutal, lawless tactics common in communities across the country by masked, unidentified agents, violating basic rights — no way to help TSA or travelers,” he continued.
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York added separately that the last thing “the American people need is for untrained ICE agents to be deployed at airports all across the country, potentially to brutalize or in some instances kill them.”
ICE agents have been spotted this week at airports in Philadelphia, Atlanta, New York, Cleveland, Newark, N.J., Houston, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, New Orleans and San Juan, Puerto Rico among other places.
DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis told the Hill, “President Trump is taking action to deploy hundreds of ICE officers, that are currently funded by Congress, to airports being adversely impacted.”
She added, “This will help bolster TSA efforts to keep our skies safe and minimize air travel disruptions. For operational security reasons, we are not going to confirm the locations of our officers.”
Trump has said ICE agents will remain at airports across the country until the DHS shutdown ends.

That is the question that befuddles me. Unless you are receiving government handouts (or have the I.Q. of a grasshopper) continue to vote for democrats? It doesn’t make any logical sense. Do we really have that many people on the dole or unable to function on a 2nd grade level?
Lemme see … the democratic party defunds the people who keep our airports as safe as they can.
Then these democrat party representatives threaten ICE for helping those who are still working to keep air-travelers ( and our country ) safe.

Without ICE and TSA people keeping the terrorists and illegals out of our country, we will most certainly be in BIG trouble.
But I would have to guess that letting illegals and the other ‘non-legal’ people in to use as democratic party voters is more important to them.
