A group of pacifist feminist activists disrupted a rare public dinner by President Donald Trump on Tuesday night at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab, near the White House.

Trump dined with several top officials, including Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. The outing was meant to highlight what Trump has described as the success of his federal law enforcement crackdown and National Guard deployment in Washington, D.C. He has argued the measures made the city safer and helped revive its restaurant scene.

The activist group Code Pink staged the protest by booking last-minute reservations near Trump’s table. Once seated, members chanted slogans such as “Free D.C.,” “Free Palestine,” and “Trump is the Hitler of our time.” The chants targeted both his domestic policies and foreign stances, including positions on Gaza, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela.

Trump acknowledged the protest with a nod and a smile before asking staff to clear the area. Secret Service agents escorted the activists out.

As Mediate reports:

In the video, which was seemingly recorded by one of the activists, Trump is seen entering the restaurant and walking toward a table. At one point, the president stops to face the camera directly and appears more amused than annoyed. After a few seconds, he motions toward security and says, “Come on.”

“Let’s go,” a man tells the protesters. “Time to go, time to go.”

The protesters continued their chant as they were escorted out. Trump’s field trip to the restaurant comes amid the ongoing clampdown he ordered in the nation’s capital, complete with the National Guard and a surge of federal law enforcement agents.

One of them shouted, “He’s not welcome in D.C.!” Some of the restaurant’s patrons could be heard booing the protesters.

The disruption drew sharp criticism from Trump supporters, with some questioning how the group managed to gain such close access. Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) and conservative commentator Graham Allen even suggested the possibility of a security leak.
