Two sources close to California Gov. Gavin Newsom told The Wrap today that Newsom is “undeniably, unequivocally” going to run for president in two years if Biden doesn’t. A prospect that seems increasingly likely.
The sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, say they have firsthand knowledge of Newsom’s plans.
The governor raised eyebrows recently when he ran a reelection ad in Florida, urging Floridians to leave for California or at least join the progressive cause. Newsom’s gubernatorial campaign spent $105,000 on the ad, which aired on Fox News.
Other actions — including a decision to phase out gasoline-powered cars by 2035 — suggest a White House run is very much on Newsom’s mind.
The Wrap has more on the latest claims by some of those closest to the governor:
“After this midterm election is over, he absolutely is going to announce that he is running for the presidency once Biden announces that he is not running,” a leading California fundraiser with close ties to the Newsom family told TheWrap. “No ifs, ands or buts. He will run if Biden does not.”
A second individual close to the governor, a Los Angeles philanthropist with deep connections in the Democratic Party and a long history of fundraising for its candidates, confirmed Newsom’s intention to run.

Officially, Newsom — a Democrat who’s expected to easily win a second term in California’s gubernatorial race this November — has said he has “sub-zero interest” in running for president in 2024. A staffer in Newsom’s administration reiterated that statement to TheWrap.
But his recent actions have already begun to create a much higher profile for the former San Francisco mayor beyond California. On Friday, the governor was in the news when he launched billboard campaigns in Texas, Indiana, Mississippi, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota and Oklahoma attacking abortion restrictions in those individual states. The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade has become a wedge issue in elections across the country. Newsom’s billboards direct people to a website – abortion.ca.gov – with information on how to obtain an abortion in California.
When asked in an interview that aired Sunday on “60 Minutes,” Biden, 79, said it’s “much too early” to say if he’ll run for president again.

And Newsom will be unequivocally and justifiably crushed by Americans, including many Californians, who have noted his many promises and failure to make good on any. He is the epitome of an empty suit whose entire career has been based on the money of Getty, Pelosi and a few others.

Communism is simply a two class society where the ruling class are the nobles and the people are the property of the state. Newsom thinks he is destined to rule the lesser people, who he easily deceives. Inflation is a tool of communists used to reduce the actual value of savings and government debt. Bernie and other nobles seem to get rich, while the majority see pay raises and welfare that never quite catches up with government driven inflation.
How does he think he will win? He’s spread ex-Californians all over the USA and they don’t like him, will talk bad about him and they won’t support him. Besides that, he’s got a track record of failure and insanity.
