Chicago, IL. – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has launched billboards in the Chicago area, announcing a program that offers a $5,000 signing bonus to out-of-state police officers who relocate to Florida.
While the program applies to all out-of-state police officers, DeSantis singled out Illinois in his press release announcing the program, drawing contrast between Florida and Illinois throughout his statement.
DeSantis specifically mentioned the recently upheld SAFE-T Act and House Bill 3751 as reasons for the effort in his statement, legislation that removes cash bail in Illinois and allows non-citizens who are eligible to work in the U.S. and carry firearms become police officers, respectively.
According to DeSantis, “more than 37” law enforcement recruits from Illinois now work in Florida, with over 2,300 officers receiving signing bonuses, totaling to over $15 million since the start of the program.
“Other states deputize non-citizens, enact policies that favor criminals over victims, and work to overtly or covertly defund the police, but not in Florida. I look forward to welcoming the Illinois men and women in blue to the law-and-order state,” DeSantis said in his statement.
According to NBC Chicago, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker said he was unsurprised by the program, arguing that Florida's gun laws make the Sunshine State a more dangerous place to be a police officer.

The left, who apparently prefers criminals to roam free while armed, always like to make the false claim that right to bear arms by the honest citizen states are akin to the wild west. Yet even the democrat owned & operated FBI continues to prove that honest & armed citizens do save lives as well as deter the crime waves allowed & in short, totally opposite of the liberal states who seem to prefer the criminals. Allowing gun violators to walk out of jail hours after being caught in armed robbery attempts proves democrats aren’t concerned about public safety. But it does prove how they want to disarm those that oppose their dream of destroying America from within. America is a mere stones throw away from dissolving. Now more in debt than every other nation combined, lawlessness as acceptable collateral damage, an economy on defective life support and the influx of millions of unskilled and dependent migrants who will drain even more of our own resources while taxing the working class to the brink of sustained poverty. If anyone claims all this isn’t true because even they (the democrat politicals) pay taxes and live here, you’re wrong. Ever see their tax returns? They allow so many tax loopholes their tax bill amounts to pennies on a ten dollar bill. Living here? Sure, but behind secure gated estates protected by armed security, which taxpayers pay. Rarely do the elite politician pays for expensive things or travel we save for years to buy. It’s mostly ‘gifted’ by foreign & domestic lobbyists.
Considering the way police officers have been demonized and defunded and how we now can point to the Democrats for the new organized crime syndicates turning shoplifting into a major business….the idea that anyone would want to be a cop is the real question. As long as lawlessness goes all the way to the W.H. how are we going to turn our country around and save our freedom & liberty??

De Santis is Gov. Doesn’t the City hire police ? What’s he doing pushing into ever facet of government ? There are boundries – if he doesn’t know this much then he certainly is not Presidential material.
