Troubled movie star Anne Heche is currently in a coma and “not expected to survive” after suffering severe burns and a traumatic brain injury. Heche, 53, sustained the injuries after she first crashed her Mini Cooper into an apartment building and then crashed into a nearby home, starting a fire.

The incident occurred in Los Angeles' Mar Vista neighborhood.

TMZ reported Thursday that a drug test revealed the presence of cocaine and possibly fentanyl in the actress' system. The outlet added that investigators were working to determine if she was given fentanyl during her hospital treatment.

Heche is under investigation by the LAPD for felony .

The Emmy Award-winning actress' credits include “Six Days Seven Nights,” “Donnie Brasco” and the remake of the Alfred Hitchcock classic “Psycho.”

In recent years, Heche has arguably become better known for speaking up about her dysfunctional upbringing and severe mental health issues. Although she did appear on NBC's “Chicago P.D.” in 2018-19 in a recurring guest role as Dep. Superintendent Katherine Brennan.

The rep added that Heche's wish had always been to be an organ donor and “she's being kept on life support to determine if any are viable.”

“We want to thank everyone for their kind wishes and prayers for Anne's recovery and thank the dedicated staff and wonderful nurses that cared for Anne at the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills hospital,” the statement, made on the behalf of Heche's friends and family, continued. 

Heche's rep said Thursday that the actress had not regained consciousness since shortly after the crash.

  1. Anne Who? What about the elderly woman who was almost killed when a careless, reckless, and negligent speeder drove into her house. setting the house on fire and destroying everything inside?

  2. She is a human being… and unless you have never done anything wrong in your life how can you be so insensitive and cruel with your remarks. May God be with her and her family.

    • You are correct, may she rest in peace, but why do successful people or anyone for the matter of facts, get yourself hooked on drugs or alcohol and then the bad decision to get into a car and drive it?????? The really good thing is her bad decision did not kill anyone else, Thank God
