CNN's corporate boss is defending its decision to host a public forum with former President Donald Trump next week.
Trump and CNN have mutually antagonized each other over the years. He last appeared on the network during the 2016 presidential campaign.
However, the two rivals appear to have set their bad blood aside, for now at least. The development comes as the president's inner circle expresses shock at Fox News' split with Tucker Carlson.
As Mediaite reports:
Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav defended CNN hosting a town hall event with former President Donald Trump during a Friday appearance on CNBC's Squawk Box.
Zaslav appeared on CNBC to discuss the latest earnings report for his media conglomerate, which owns CNN, and co-host Joe Kernen asked about the Trump Town Hall. Zaslav's reply was a distillation of CNN's mission under the leadership of new CEO Chris Licht.
…
Zaslav continued to laud CNN's future — and predicted a bounce-back from its current ratings lull — as the 2024 presidential season approaches.

UHHH . . . WHAT?!?
Policy indeed rolls from the top down. Change the Grand Poo-Bah and change the philosophy of the corporation.
Sorry, CNN, I just finally got the stain out of the carpet in front of my TV! Not gonna give you a second chance at it. Some of the smell is still detectable over there.
