Fox News Commentator Tomi Lahren Roasts Trump For One-Sided Attacks On DeSantis

commentator is none too impressed with former President 's incessant attacks on Governor .

Per Mediaite:

Lahren joined  on Tuesday night to discuss Republican-on-Republican political attacks ahead of the 2024 GOP primary. The discussion turned to Trump's mostly onesided feud with DeSantis, who has yet to publicly declare his White House candidacy despite all indications that he will run.

“So when we talk about the negative attacks, it's one-sided right now,” Lahren said. She called Trump's DeSantis attacks “very frustrating,” adding “it's like going after an imaginary friend, right now, when Ron DeSantis hasn't even announced yet.”

“It looks like Trump is already upset, anxious, and I don't think that's a good look for him,” she said. “It's going to come down to this between Ron and Don. It's gonna come down to who can convince us that they can win.”

Lahren argued she believes DeSantis is ready to be president, so it will be up to Trump to prove himself as the stronger candidate between them.

Lahren's comments come as Trump has intensified his attacks on DeSantis, hinting he regretted endorsing his gubernatorial campaign in 2018, as POLITICO noted from the former president's airplane:

“He was dead as a dog, he was a dead politician. He would have been working perhaps for a law firm or doing something else,” Trump told a small group of reporters aboard his plane on Monday afternoon en route to , where he was to make an appearance that evening.

Asked if he regretted endorsing DeSantis for governor in 2018, Trump responded: “Yeah maybe, this guy was dead. He was dead as a doornail. … I might say that.”

In recent weeks, Trump escalated his attacks against the Florida Republican, going so far as to falsely imply in a post on that DeSantis groomed high school girls with alcohol when he was a teacher.

“I don't spend my time trying to smear other ,” DeSantis said in response.

DeSantis is widely viewed as Trump's most formidable challenger in a Republican presidential primary, should he enter the race.

  1. Trump should stick to issues. His personal attacks on opponents are off-putting; for many they are very distasteful and repugnant. Such attacks for many overshadow his accomplishments …. they will backfire on Trump. He has a remarkable and enviable record. He must run on that and not resort to childish name-calling. His record speaks for itself and about his leadership. His name-calling makes him look petty and insecure. STRAIGHTEN UP AND YOU WILL WIN.
    Signed, 2-time Trump voter.

  2. The most successful president in modern history has to prove that he is the better candidate for president? Does 98% have to prove that it is more than x? Do I like his personality? No. Would I enjoy working for him? Not likely. Do I like his results? Absolutely.

    • I have stuck up for Trump since he was first elected with members of my family and friends, who are by the way conservatives. They just can’t stand his personality, and that is going to cost him and the rest of us. If I were him I would immediately apologize to all of the fellow Republicans. I have insulted and try and work together to save this country.

      • Your family and friends should not care about Trump’s personality, as he is a great president that truly cares about and helps the American people. They don’t have to go to dinner with him. DeSantis is a good governor but he has not been tested like Trump has and word is that he is siding with the money donors of the Establishment. The democrats are already starting to go after DeSantis, they will hurt him if he runs. Trump cannot be bought and that is worth a whole lot. We NEED TRUMP back as our President.

        • Of course, the Dems are not at all going after DJT are they? Dems will attack anyone who may seem to be a threat to them and that I suspect is why they are all over DeSantis as he has made Florida pretty much a “hostile work enviornment” for all their bull$hit. DJT had wonderous achevements during his time in office but since the Dems held the congress he had to do most of it via executive orders which were immediately cancelled the the Biden crime family came into office. We need DJTs ideas and energy but I think he will not be able to cross the bar again even with the fervent support he has. My personal wish is that he would stop the personal attacks on Republicans (unless they attack first) and concentrate on the contrast between his administration and the current fiasco. 😉

  3. It is not a good look for Trump to throw out negative comments toward any repub. Makes him seem petty & desperate.

  4. It’s a shame that Trump can’t rise above his nastiness. I know lots of Trump voters, that don’t want him to run again unless he can overcome this childish trait. He will never win over new voters until he follows the tenets of his self acclaimed “Faith”, one of which is “not mocking” other people. I believe in everything President Trump’s MAGA platform stands for. I believe Ron DeSantis does too. I believe also that President Trump could prove to America how much he truly cares about this country, by having the “courage” to Swallow his Pride and apologize to all his opponents and “enemies” for the name calling and mocking that he has thrown their way. I believe if he was to publicly do that, he would stand a good chance of becoming President in 2024. This country needs a new leader, Biden et al have tragically put us on a downward spiral both domestically and globally. The Democrats Must be Stopped. President Trump could do that if he could Tame His Tongue. We need the MAGA PLATFORM. If President Trump isn’t wise enough to do what he needs to do to win; then I stand behind DeSantis (a DeSantis/Noem ticket would be fantastic) to Make America Free and Great Again.

  5. At this point, for all the good he has done and hopefully will do again, we must accept the fact that Mr. Trump has no filter. There are conditions where this is the chief symptom: that folks just blurt out what comes immediately into their heads. Some consider him a jerk but I don’t believe it. He is a good man with no filter.
