Fox News Hosts Get Testy Over Trump Indictment

-

Things briefly got dicey between “Fox & Friends” co-hosts this morning, particularly and .

Kilmeade and began by discussing the news of former President 's indictment for allegedly mishandling . They were upset by 's remarks that Trump could have avoided this situation by returning the papers when he was asked to do so voluntarily for over a year.

Doocy disagreed with their criticism and proceeded to gently chide his colleagues.

Per Mediaite:

“Well, you know, yesterday we had Chris Christie on, and he said this was completely self-inflicted because the asked him to voluntarily turn the documents over to the National Archives for over a year and a quarter,” Doocy noted. “And he didn't turn them all over. So they wound up with a search warrant. They found more. You know, and ultimately, if they read it, you knowingly kept things. That is bad form.”

Doocy explained why Trump was under indictment, at least based on reports as he knows them. “Apparently, during the investigation that the federal government discovered the boxes — with papers — were moved out of the mail storage room after the subpoena and then moved back into the storage room the day before the feds actually went in. And so it looks like they were trying to keep the secrets from the government.”

Brian Kilmeade quickly jumped in and undermined Doocy's assessment, saying, “That's according to all the leaks that of Jack Smith's investigation!”

Doocy replied, “And we don't know where the leaks came from, Brian, but it's a significant charge.”

Kilmeade dismissed the accuracy of the leaks, adding “you don't know if any of it's true,” in a barb at Doocy.

While most on the left reacted positively to news of Trump's second indictment, some liberals were critical of the decision, as shared on his program:

Trump himself recorded a video in response to the indictment last night:

  1. A lot of stuff being assumed here. Isn’t it interesting that 2 1/2 years after Trump left office and we still don’t know what those documents were all about? I mean we haven’t been given the foggiest idea of what topics, investigations, and reports made up the content of those boxes at Mar-a-lago. Not even at the highest level. In the case of the documents Joe Biden had, we don’t even know how many documents or boxes were found, nor how many were retained, which Biden’s team has had every conceivable opportunity to do.

The fact that the National Archives doesn’t even keep track of all these classified and top-secret materials is pretty mind-blowing.

  2. Doocey has been anti Trump for a while now. He has been argumentative with Earhardt and Kilmead often. I’m sure it has to do with being protective of his Fox WHITE HOUSE reporter son. May be afraid Murdoch will replace him.

  3. I was a fan of Fox and Friends from the time it began airing. I had never subscribed to cable until I heard about Fox News from Rush Limbaugh. I don’t listen to Fox anymore because of their vendetta against President Trump. It is disgusting to me that they would turn on Trump, especially Fox and Friends, when the most highly rated programming was Monday morning with Trump at about 7:00 AM. Doocy is disgusting and the worst – I wonder if he is trying to grease the skids for his son Peter. I still occasionally watch Fox and Friends First to fill in the half hour before “Wake Up America” begins on Newsmax. I would like to remain faithful to those who still defend President Trump, but my total disgust for the Murdochs and Fox management make it impossible for me to enjoy any their programming.

  4. Obama left with three trailers of docs and nobody looked at those boxes. Biden has had classified matericals since 1974 when he was a senator, no one charged him…count so far 1850 boxes. Trump left with 15 boxes of letters, newspaper clippings, photos, letters from diplomats and the public and they raided his house twice in two months. Anyone who ever worked in the government knows documents do not always stay classified for ife…example, bin laden, his raid was top secret but after he was buried at sea they made the movie based on documents from the government….This is a hit job every president has had documents. National Archives have always presented a place to store their documents until they can go threw them, for their libraries or national archives, they did not offer trump such a place….

  5. Steve Goofy is and always has been a self important buffoon and in over his head. Perhaps his lane is only for cook books.

  6. I’m sure Peter Doocy is ashamed of his father Steve Doocy who has shown his liberal bias, he’s sickening, just going along to keep his job by pleasing the Fox owners ‼️
