Fox News Hosts Scrutinize Gov. Abbott’s Plan

-

Despite being one of the most MAGA-friendly shows on , “Fox & Friends Weekend” closely scrutinized Texas Gov. 's plan to deliver illegal immigrants to Washington, D.C.

While none of the hosts questioned Abbott's motives, one raised doubts about his plan's viability.

The skepticism from that host, in particular, contrasts with the enthusiastic support Abbott has received from conservatives after the first busload of migrants detained in Texas arrived blocks away from the White House.

While other center-right outlets have described the arrival of migrants on chartered buses as a symbolic tool to pressure to take action, host suggested the governor's plan won't work.

In a discussion with her co-hosts Will Cain and Pete Hegseth, Campos bashed the federal 's plans to relocate illegal immigrants while expressing her preference that migrants be delivered to prominent Democrats directly.

Campos said in part:

Nancy Pelosi doesn't live in Washington, D.C., itself. Probably dropping them off in San Francisco, on her doorstep, might make more of a difference. Or dropping them off at Barack Obama's hometown or some other hometown where rich people actually live would make a difference. You're dropping them off at the steps of the Capitol. It looks like they're getting greeted with a bunch of NGOs who know they know they're going to arrive, and they're given packets… I'm not sure I get this. I wanted the constitutional crisis that would take this to the so we could get clarity on this.

Mediaite adds:

Cain followed up by saying “There's no doubt they want this ride. This is a voluntary bus ride. In order for one of those illegal immigrants to get on the bus to Washington, D.C., they have to volunteer to do so.” He also explained to his co-host that it would be “in-essence kidnapping” for Abbott to load immigrants onto buses against their will and have them deported instead.

The conversation went on with Cain explaining how the Supremacy Clause gives the federal government deportation powers beyond those of individual states.

For his part, Gov. Abbott appeared on “Tucker Carlson Tonight” last week to explain his plan to secure our porous southern border.

  1. I wish I could take Abbott seriously, but the buses are not even full, and they are dropped off in the EARLY morning hours, blocks from the Capitol Bldg.! And guess what? Catholic Charities is on hand to hand out bus and plane tickets!
