Singer Tina Turner has died. According to a representative, the legendary entertainer passed away at her home in Switzerland after battling a long, unspecified illness.
Turner, known informally as the “Queen of Rock ‘n' Roll,” was 83.
The statement announcing the news said, in part, “With her, the world loses a music legend and a role model.”
Turner's best-known hit “What's Love Got To Do With It” spent several weeks as the number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1984.

Turner was Born in 1939 in Brownsville, Tennessee. She rose to fame as part of the Ike and Tina Turner duo in the 70s before launching a solo career that is among the most successful of any female performer in history.
Dubbed the Queen of Rock ‘N' Roll, she is survived by three children.
