Can She Win? Kari Lake To Announce Senate Run

will announce her candidacy for 's highly coveted U.S. Senate seat next month.

Democrat Katie Hobbs narrowly defeated Lake in the governor's race last November.

A longtime news anchor in Phoenix, Lake plans to announce her campaign sometime in mid-October. (RELATED: Impeached Republican Drops Bombshell Hint Before Tucker Carlson)

ABC News has additional information from sources close to the MAGA favorite:

Her entry would mark the latest twist in the race for Sen. 's seat. Sinema, who late last year left the Democratic Party to become an independent, has not yet said if she plans on running for reelection, while Democratic Rep. has cleared a path to his party's nomination.

Democrats currently enjoy a 51-49 seat majority in the Senate.

The GOP base showed unwavering support for Lake's gubernatorial run almost immediately. It was clear to everyone, even her critics, that she had a natural talent for politicking. On Election Day, exit confirmed that her insistence on repeating 's baseless claims of electoral fraud cost her indispensable support among key groups.

Lake mounted a long-shot legal challenge to overturn her defeat. Judges repeatedly ruled that her attorneys failed to present sufficient evidence to support her claim that the Republican recorder of Maricopa County deliberately caused some polling place printers to jam on Election Day. Glitches caused a temporary disruption in voting tabulations. An independent review led by a former state supreme court justice found they were not intentional and did not prevent people from voting. For her part, Lake remains defiant:

Lake has continued to be a visible presence on the conservative circuit in key states like Michigan and , which helped maintain her ties to primary voters.

“It's time Arizona has a true conservative fighter in the U.S. Senate. The people of Arizona want Kari Lake to stay in this fight and are calling on her to run and she's very likely to answer that call,” said Caroline Wren, a senior advisor to Lake.

Lake would likely be the favorite in the GOP primary. Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is already running, and Blake Masters, who lost the 2022 Arizona Senate race to Democratic incumbent Mark Kelly, is reportedly weighing his own bid.

Mike Noble, the head of a nonpartisan polling firm, speculated that Lake's candidacy hurts the GOP's chances in a general election.

“Republicans hopes to retake the Senate majority just got a lot harder,” he told ABC News.

  1. It’s getting to be a lot more fun watching the left-wing loony liberal media start swirling back down the sewer pipes from which they first floated up from.

Big things will be coming when Trump takes back the White House.

  2. i live in Texas and donated a couple of times to Lake’s run. And am going to donate again. I would like to see a Vice President like LAKE,GREEN BOBERT or the governor of South Dakota. I can’t think of her name right now,but all of these aggressive women impress me. I’m sick of these flip flopping sorryass phonies like John McStain that feed at the government trough on our dime just to undermine us when we need them the most.
