Expert Calls Race Critical to Sarah Palin’s Comeback Bid

-

's is back!

This time, he says he's seen enough and declared that Rep. , D-, has won reelection to represent the state's at-large district. Peltola's victory, if confirmed, would derail 's comeback bid.

Wasserman correctly predicted Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly's win over Republican Blake Masters ahead of news desks at major outlets.

His projections this election cycle haven't been wrong yet.

Cook is recognized by both parties as having some of the best election forecasting and analysis.

Palin lost an August special election to decide who would fill the remainder of deceased Rep. Don Young's term before the November midterms.

As American Liberty News reported:

Peltola's victory was reported after votes were counted late Wednesday as part of the state's new system. The new voting system has voters rank candidates according to their order of preference rather than choosing just one candidate. The last-place candidates are then eliminated, with their voters' subsequent choices going to their next choice's tally. The process repeats until one candidate reaches a 50%-plus-one-vote threshold.

As the third-place finisher, Nick Begich's (R) votes were redistributed to his voter's second choices, pushing Peltola over the finish line.

Last week's election followed the same ranked-choice voting system, allowing Alaskans to rank Peltola, Palin and Begich in order of preference.

  1. So Republican voters pick Palin (1), Peltola (2) and Begich (3) then those #3 votes for the Republican actually go to the 2nd place Democrat? THAT is the most screwed up system I have ever heard of and of course the whole thing was devised by Murkowski’s daddy to protect her Senate seat… Hmmmmmmmm.

    • It sounds like your & other posts think all third place votes go to second second place candidate. Not so. The majority of Republican voters for Begich chose Peltola over Palin.

More choice and no more crazy expensive run-offs.

      Party hacks hate it.

      • Thats not what happens though !! Some do not mark second place choice allowing ballots to be altered by Democrat operatives in the election office. Think about it !! How many Republicans voting for the third place candidate who is a Republican would then vote for the Democrat as the second choice. Does not make sense !! Makes sense that something is wrong here !!!!!!

  2. The reason Sarah Palin is losing is because of rank choice voting. Another Democrat way to get their woke candidates elected.

    • Ranked-choice voting doesn’t automatically favor Democrats, but it does if there is a war in the GOP and many establishment Republicans prefer a Democrat to one of their own two candidates. This could go on and on until Republicans get tired of electing Democrats. It should be noted that Nick Begich, who ran against Palin, is the scion of a prominent Democrat family.

  3. Anyone who votes a democrat into office deserves all the bad that follows. Voters in Arizona have to be the most brain dead people in this country, even worse than california voters. With all the corruption and suspected fraud in that state and yet they vote the same corrupt people back into office. Can I just say LUNACY !!!!!!!

  4. Ranked voting is right up there with unsolicited mail in ballots as far as corrupt voting goes. You don’t have the third place finisher in a track meet use her/his time to adjust the times of the first two finishers.

  5. This system will make sure the majority vote candidate will never win, when you add the second and third place votes together for the runner-up candidate, this will always give the runner-up candidate the win if the majority vote winner does not get 50%+1 of the votes cast, the majority of the votes is then always given to the runner-up candidate in a three-person race.

That makes the election winner who gets the most votes always the loser if they don’t get 50%+1 of the votes. Even though the 1st and 3rd candidate are from the same political party, if the majority of the people in their same political party don’t ever want the third candidate to win the election and put him third to accomplish that purpose, they are then giving the election to the member that is not from their own political party, which may not be want they want, but is rigged to do that because of these silly election rules.

The only fair thing to do if nobody gets the 50%+1 vote threshold, then have a run-off between the 1st and 2nd vote getters, like they are now doing in Georgia, which will make sure the majority vote getter will be the winner, not the runner-up.

Whomever thought this stupid system up, apparently wants to make sure that the majority vote getter never wins, and the people who voted for this system did not really understand how it really works, and that the majority vote getter will never win in close races when they don’t get 50%+1, and this injustice is guaranteed to happen whenever you have three or more candidates running for the same office.
