Fired University Staffer Claims Victimhood After Telling Trump Supporters To Jump Off A Bridge

Leonard Serrato, a former assistant director for fraternity and sorority life at the University of Oregon, is yet again making headlines this holiday season for declaring himself the victim after being fired for a video in which he told Trump supporters to kill themselves.

In the video, which surfaced shortly after Election Day, Serrato unleashed a profanity-laden tirade, stating, “I don’t care if you are my family… You can literally go f**k yourself if you voted for Donald Trump.” He continued, “If you are so sad about your groceries being expensive, get a better f**king paying job. Do better in life. Get a f**king education. Do something because you are f**king stupid, and I hope you go jump off of a f**king bridge.”

A Troubled History Resurfaces

Serrato’s firing has also reignited scrutiny of his past. He was convicted in connection with a 2012 hazing incident that resulted in the death of Philip Dhanens, a pledge at Thefta Chi fraternity. Prosecutors said Serrato provided hard liquor and encouraged excessive drinking. He served 18 months in jail for his role.

Serrato Responds: Claims Misinterpretation and Doxxing

Despite the controversy, Serrato has remained unrepentant. In a December Instagram Live post, he alleged that the media misrepresented his comments and blamed students for making the video go viral.

“[The news media] turned the narrative into me telling all Trump supporters to unalive themselves,” Serrato said, claiming his personal information was leaked online. He added that the video initially appeared on the anonymous app Fizz, a platform popular among college students.

University Responds

The University of Oregon condemned Serrato’s remarks in November, calling them “abhorrent and not in alignment with our values or mission.” At the time, a university spokesperson confirmed that Serrato had been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.

“As a public university, we take our duty seriously to provide an environment that welcomes diversity of thought and respect,” the spokesperson told KOIN 6 News, adding that the university was offering mental health support for affected students and staff.
