In a heated exchange on Fox News, host Neil Cavuto and Republican Senator John Kennedy (R-La.) clashed over comments made about Vice President Kamala Harris. The discussion quickly turned into a heated tit-for-tat, with Cavuto repeatedly challenging Kennedy’s stance.
Kennedy’s Insults and Cavuto’s Defense
The Louisiana Republican began Monday’s appearance with a personal attack on Harris, prompting Cavuto to intervene. The host questioned whether such remarks could alienate female voters, potentially harming the GOP’s standing with only 98 days until the presidential election.
Despite Cavuto’s attempts to steer the conversation towards constructive criticism, Kennedy doubled down on his comments, accusing Cavuto of being overly sensitive.
Cavuto was clearly unimpressed.
As Mediaite reports:
“What’s the difference between the loon wing and being a loon?” Cavuto asked. “The only reason why I’m saying it is, if that is so – and you have a lot of American people who have now taken another look at her, and maybe it’s short-lived, to your point senator. She is running even with Donald Trump. And I’m just wondering about the approach you’re taking. And it’s very artful, don’t get me wrong. And you raise a lot of substantive issues. It’s gonna come back to bite your heinies, isn’t it? Aren’t you concerned about that?”
“I’m telling you what I think the American people think,” Kennedy replied.
Cavuto then reiterated that Harris and Trump are essentially even in national polls and in battleground states. The senator insisted a deeper dive into the polls – whose publishers he declined to cite – shows that Americans think the vice president is a dope.

Cavuto has always been a closet leftist!! It comes out now and again when he has a strong-willed individual like Sen. Kennedy!!! I respect the hell out of Kennedy with everything he says and he does!!! I don’t watch Cavuto because of his remarks and demeanor!!! So I missed this exchange they had!! I can’t get past how arrogant Neil Cavuto is. I turn off FOX whenever his show comes on. The problem is that the mainstream media is not presenting all the facts about Kamala. Therefore, I am afraid the general public is not well informed. However, it does not help calling her a dope, even though it may be accurate.
If what is reported is accurate, Senator Kennedy did not state any untruths. Margaret Thatcher did not giggle (at least not in public) and many Americans do think VP Harris is a bit of a ding dong. I don’t see the problem. I’m not a fan of Cavuto so I did not see the interview. However, what was stated was not where near as appalling as some of things I’ve heard said about Trump or Vance.
I think Senator Kennedy is amazing..however, name calling is the most frequent complaint about Trump..it doesn’t help our Republican efforts and prompts some damage. Senator Kennedy is amusing and a pro when outsmarting opposing “visitors” to the senate.
