Is He OK? Biden Now Claims He Was For Gay Marriage Decades Before He Was Against It

-

In an interview that's only adding to questions about his honesty and mental facilities, President Joe claims to have supported since 1960, despite repeatedly voting against it and vocally opposing it.

In an interview with Comedy Central's “,” Biden claims to have had an “epiphany” after seeing two men kiss while he was a young student.

“I can remember exactly when my epiphany [on supporting gay marriage] was,” Biden told interviewer Kal Penn, a comic and former Obama administration staffer.

“I was a senior in high school. And my dad was dropping me off and I remember I was about to get out of the car and I looked to my right and two well-dressed men in suits kissed each other,” Biden claimed.

But Biden's claims he was a gay marriage supporter after that are contradicted by the many, many times he publicly opposed it and voted against it in his four decades of service as a U.S. Senator.

Biden also defended the Defense of Marriage Act, which allowed states to ban gay marriage in a 2006 appearance on NBC's “Meet The Press.”

“We already have a law, the Defense of Marriage Act,” said Biden, who voted for the bill in 1996. “We've all voted — not, where I've voted, and others have said, look, marriage is between a man and a woman and states must respect that.”

“Nobody's violated that law, there's been no challenge to that law. Why do we need a constitutional amendment? Marriage is between a man and a woman,” an animated Biden roared.

Biden, who began serving in the Senate in 1973, did not endorse marriage equality until 2012, nearly 40 years after he was first elected and eight years after Republican then-Vice President came out in support.
