Longtime Trump Org CFO Heads to Rikers Island

Allen Weisselberg has learned his fate after pleading guilty to tax fraud charges during his tenure as the Trump Organization’s chief financial officer.

Weisselberg, 75, admitted to helping the Trump family business avoid paying taxes for 15 years by failing to report and pay taxes on compensation for top executives.

He will spend the next five months in New York City’s notorious Rikers Island penitentiary.

ABC News has more:

A Manhattan jury found the Trump Organization guilty last month of criminal tax fraud for paying the personal expenses of some executives without reporting them as income, and of compensating them as independent contractors instead of full-time employees.

Weisselberg, while no longer the company’s chief financial officer, remained employed with Trump’s family real estate firm and expected to make more than $1 million last year in salary and bonuses, according to his testimony.

He was promised a sentence of five months in jail to be served on Rikers Island and five years’ probation in exchange for his testimony, and agreed to repay nearly $2 million in taxes owed.

Weisselberg pleaded guilty in August to one count of grand larceny in the second degree; three counts of criminal tax fraud in the third degree; one count of scheme to defraud in the first degree; one count of conspiracy in the fourth degree; one count of criminal tax fraud in the fourth degree; four counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree; and four counts of falsifying business records in the first degree.

In December, a Manhattan jury found two Trump Organization companies, the Trump Corp. and Trump Payroll Corp., guilty of criminal tax fraud.

It’s HIS duty to report the income compensation he received. You make it sound like it was Trump’s fault. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t do their utmost to legally send the least amount in taxes to the federal government.

    Don

There are frauds on both sides so what about the Clinton’s crooked dealings that’s never been investigated….or Schumer’s or Schiff’s or Pelousy’s….and the many more???
