A growing political firestorm is unfolding after Marjorie Taylor Greene publicly called for the removal of President Donald Trump using the 25th Amendment, citing concerns over his recent rhetoric on Iran.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Greene urged immediate action, referencing Trump’s statements about the potential destruction of Iran’s “civilization.” Her comments mark a dramatic escalation in her criticism of the president, with whom she was once closely aligned before a high-profile political split last year.

The controversy stems from a series of posts by Trump on Truth Social, where he warned of catastrophic consequences for Iran amid the ongoing conflict. In one message, he suggested that a pivotal and potentially devastating moment was imminent, raising alarm among critics who interpreted the language as signaling nuclear escalation.

Greene framed her opposition in stark moral terms, arguing that the United States should not be pursuing actions that could result in mass civilian casualties. Her call to invoke the 25th Amendment—which allows for the removal of a president deemed unable to perform the duties of the office—places her among a small but growing group of lawmakers openly questioning Trump’s fitness to serve.

That group includes several Democrats who have issued similar demands, though through different mechanisms. Ilhan Omar called for impeachment, while Mark Pocan explicitly endorsed invoking the 25th Amendment. Shri Thanedar, who previously introduced articles of impeachment against Trump unrelated to the Iran War, also argued that the president should be removed.

The convergence of criticism from both a former Republican ally and Democratic lawmakers highlights the growing concern among Trump’s opponents, even as support for the president remains strong within much of the Republican Party.

The 25th Amendment, however, presents a high bar for action. It requires the vice president and a majority of the Cabinet to declare that the president is unable to discharge the powers of the office; a scenario that has rarely been seriously pursued in U.S. history. Impeachment, the alternative route raised by Democrats, would require majority support in the House and a two-thirds vote in the Senate for conviction.

The White House has not publicly responded to Greene’s remarks, and there is no indication that a congressional plurality is considering such measures.

The episode comes amid heightened tensions following U.S. involvement in Iran, where rising military costs and increasingly aggressive rhetoric have deepened divisions in Washington. As the conflict intensifies, so too does the political fallout at home, with lawmakers casting doubt not only strategy abroad but leadership at the highest levels of government.

Whether these calls translate into concrete action remains uncertain. But the rhetoric and cross-party criticism underscore a volatile moment in American politics, foreign policy disputes are increasingly raising questions about presidential authority and stability.

I wouldn’t take his rhetoric any more seriously than that of a mother who says to her child in anger, “I’ll kill you.”

It does not surprise me that the “WHINING ONE’ has found her new landing. Far from being a Patriot, this woman immediately went from a true Patriot to the disgraced Traitors. This is a very difficult time and a time that we should be supportive of our Administration. She went from an Elephant to a JACKASS!

I suggest the SHE should be the one who is in need of some mental observation.
There appears to be something deeply wrong with her thought processes.
