North Carolina’s Republican lieutenant governor is officially seeking higher office.

Shortly after the announcement of his gubernatorial campaign, another video of Robinson also started making waves on social media. In the video, he derides the transgender movement and those who seek to become something other than what god made them.

Robinson was elected to the office of North Carolina lieutenant governor in 2020, after a speech he made at a Greensboro City Council meeting defending gun rights in April of 2018 went viral – and has since been seen more than 150 million times.
The first African American to hold his post, Robinson has been an ardent advocate for gun rights. North Carolina is a state where the governor and lieutenant governor are elected independently from one another, and Robinson has butted heads with the state’s sitting term-limited governor – Democrat Roy Cooper – on a number of issues including the Second Amendment. Cooper publicly chastised Robinson for remarks that he publically made last year stating “I got them AR-15s in case the government gets too big for his britches.”
This is dangerous and not who we are as patriotic North Carolinians. @MarkRobinsonNC's assault weapon threats are bad enough, but an elected official sworn to uphold the constitution advocating violent overthrow of our govt shames NC and puts our safety and our democracy at risk. pic.twitter.com/38AKeSaqNY

Robinson’s national profile has continued to grow exponentially in recent months. He released a book late last year, and was also a featured speaker at the 2022 National Rifle Association (NRA) Annual Meeting’s legislative leadership forum in Houston, Texas, alongside the likes of Donald Trump, Kristi Noem, and Ted Cruz. Robinson currently serves as a National Rifle Association board member.

North Carolina‘s Democrat Attorney General Josh Stein has also announced a 2024 gubernatorial campaign in the state, as has Republican State Treasurer Dale Folwell.

Victory Hooray Yes
Little Roy Cooper is not only term limited, but the Republicans hold a supermajority in the House and Senate to over ride any thing that the leftwing liberal looney vetoes. You go Mark, Me and my family are voting for you.
