Progressive Commentator Cenk Uygur Announces Presidential Campaign

-

The creator of arguably the most popular news show for millennials and Gen Z is running for president.

Progressive commentator , founder of “” (TYT), announced on Wednesday's episode of the TYT that he intends to challenge President in the Democratic primary.

Uygur begrudgingly thanked Biden for winning the 2020 presidential election before tearing into the establishment.

A visibly agitated Uygur said that the chances for Biden to win reelection were slim to none. He added that time was running out for Democrats to prevent from retaking the White House. (RELATED: Do You Believe? New Presidential Poll Reveals Earth-Shattering Numbers)

He then explained his strategy to his co-host, Ana Kasparian:

The Hill continues:

“[Biden] is not going to win,” Uygur said during the announcement. “It should not have been me, it should have been somebody else, but unfortunately it was not anyone else. There's only four months left. We must change course. He has at best a 10 percent chance of winning. I'm running as a proxy. I am running to win. But I am also running as a proxy for any other candidate.”

The progressive host has called for Biden to drop out of the race, stating repeatedly that democracy is on the line, referring to former President Trump's 2024 run.

“We have got to get Biden out of the race,” Uygur said. “Thank you for winning in 2020. But if he loses this time around, it's not just his problem, it's all of our problems. I actually think democracy is on the line, and so if it takes me running, that's what I'm gonna do.

Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Uygur immigrated to the U.S. at 8 years old. He believes that the Constitution's “Natural Born Citizen” clause will not prevent him in his effort, believing that he can win the battle in the Supreme Court.

Uygur disclosed that he hired the lawyer who represented Bernie Sanders in his two presidential campaigns, believing this would help him overcome any legal challenge to his campaign's legitimacy.

“…my guess is I'm going to have some strong allies in this,” he said, predicting Arnold Schwarzenegger's support. “Either I'm going to win, or I'm going to lose. Now, this case is on our side. The precedent is definitely on our side. So, what are you going to do, brother?” (RELATED: Arnold Schwarzenegger Goes Off, Says Democrats ‘Want To F*ck Up Every City In America')

Uygur's previous political experience includes running for the Democratic Party nomination in 's 25th Congressional District's 2020 special election following his stint as an MSNBC host.

Despite Uygur's best efforts, his nomination bid fell far short, with a mere 6.6% of the vote.

  1. People like this is just part of the reason we need Trump back in office. We can not afford anti-Americans in government

  2. Well, the Dem’s have shown they can buck the rules before – both Obama and Harris were not Constitutionally eligible to run – but the Repub’s haven’t had the guts to call them out on it …. and just look where that has gotten us.

And when are these people going to realize that the USA is NOT a democracy? We are a Constitutional Republic. The majority does not necessarily get to run the show on everything. A democracy is 2 wolves and a lamb voting on the dinner menu. That is not how it works here.

Otherwise, these idiots refuse to admit that the country was much more secure, more prosperous, more affordable with President Trump than with any Democrat in the office in 40 years or more. They want to tear it all down but have no workable or successful ideas on how to rebuild because most of them have never had a real job, run a profitable business or dealt with the real world before. They think that economic and political theories work but those theories fail to take human nature and reality into account.

Mr. Uygur needs to sit down and shut up.
