One of South Dakota's top Democrats is implying that traditional families are “dangerous” and “un-American.”
State Rep. Erin Healy's remarks came in a tweet berating the Family Heritage Alliance, a Rapid City-based Christian nonprofit.

Healy was rebuking Family Heritage Alliance's claim that a home with a married mother and father was the safest place for a child. Critics came to the group's defense, with some pointing to data supporting the claim that married biological parents are the safest adults for children to live with.
“Extremist group Family Heritage Alliance said this morning that the safest place for kids are in families that have a married mom and dad. What a dangerous and un-American belief,” Healy wrote. It's unclear what specific comments Healy was referring to, as her office and Family Heritage Alliance did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation's requests for comment.
Children living with their married biological parents experience the lowest rates of maltreatment, according to a 2010 study by the Department of Health and Human Services. Children whose single parent had a live-in partner saw more than 10 times the rate of abuse and nearly eight times the rate of neglect compared to children living with their married biological parents.
Further, children whose single parents had a live-in partner saw the highest rates of physical and sexual abuse compared to children in other living situations, according to the study; 15.4 out of 1,000 of this group experienced physical abuse and 12.1 of 1,000 experienced sexual abuse, compared to 2.5 and 0.7 out of 1,000 respectively for children with married biological parents.
Healy serves as assistant minority leader for the Democratic caucus in the South Dakota House of Representatives.
She is one of seven Democrats in the 70-seat chamber.

How does a Democrat get elected in South Dakota? She must be from a district heavily populated with American Indians. American Indians add a pink tinge in states with large numbers of Indians—Arizona and New Mexico are examples.

I had to look her up. Unfortunately, this is what will happen more as Millenials who have been taught in the public school system engage in politics. This person (Healy) should be institutionalized because it is obviously brain damaged. But the way that the Dems institutionalize the brain damaged in their party is to put them in positions of authority.

I wonder how the conversation would have gone had Ms. Healy been asked to state why she thought the Family Heritage Alliance’s premise was wrong or incorrect? How would she have defended her position? Provide examples. Also, terms need to be defined up front – so when Ms. Healy states traditional families are “dangerous” and “un-American” – what exactly does that mean, again with examples.
She needs to spend time in really low income neighborhoods to see the drug use, the kids that wander the streets all day & 1/2 the night, 3 yr. old kids in diapers, no clothes/shoes wandering around and if you make friends with the kids you hear about the abuse(s) and see the bruises, and mental abuses. Not all in low income areas are like that – there are many good people that try to help but the revenge of drug dealers is not pretty and they have families too.
