Is this the future that awaits us if they emerge victorious?
The Minnesota Department of Education and the Kamala Harris campaign find themselves embroiled in controversy today as Brian Lozenski, an appointee of vice-presidential nominee Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.), faces criticism for advocating the “deconstruction” of the U.S. government as prescribed by Critical Race Theory (CRT). In a recent video conference, Lozenski spoke out in support of CRT, stating that “the United States needs to be deconstructed, period,” later adding, “And that’s why I’m a critical race theorist [laughs].”
Lozenski’s connection to Walz runs through the Minnesota Department of Education, which appointed him to develop the ethnic studies standards framework for Minnesota’s roughly 830,000 public school students. Lozenski’s framework is set to be finalized on Oct. 31.

“The United States needs to be deconstructed, period. Right. Like that’s, you know, and so I think, I think it’s an interesting argument there. And that’s why I’m a critical… https://t.co/hLRyVEPc62 pic.twitter.com/5NcnfqLnks
The remarks quickly ignited reactions, with Rep. Jim Banks (R-Ind.) leading the charge against Lozenski’s statements. “He has clearly explained, publicly and on video, that he supports the deconstruction and overthrow of the United States,” Banks wrote in a letter obtained by Fox News, citing Lozenski’s language as evidence of his commitment to dismantling the guiding principles of the United States:
The letter was first obtained by Fox News Digital and calls on Jennifer Hoppenstedt, interim inspector general of the Minnesota Department of Education, to investigate Brian Lozenski, associate professor of urban and multicultural education at Macalester College, over comments calling for an “insurrection against the United States.” Macalester College is a private liberal arts school in St. Paul, Minnesota.
Banks submitted his letter to Inspector General Hoppenstedt last week.

“I am calling on you to investigate Mr. Lozenski’s history of advocating for insurrection against the United States, and to investigate whether Mr. Lozenski’s radical, anti-America views influenced the Minnesota’s Ethnic Studies Working Group development of its Ethnic Studies framework,” Banks continued in his letter.
If you want to know what Kamala's real agenda will be if elected, just look to Walz and the people he appointed (specifically Brian Lozenski) for the answer. https://t.co/jiCWrWBqrL

Walz taught high school social studies before launching his political career as a U.S. House member representing Minnesota in 2006.
Fox News Digital previously reported that a video published on June 19, 2022, by The Solidarity Network, showed Lozenski discussing his critical race theory research, and arguing that the U.S. is “irreversibly racist” and “must be overthrown.”
This incident places the Harris campaign in a challenging position with seven days until the election, as critics argue that Lozenski’s views could reflect the approach to education policy of a potential Harris-Walz administration.
