Texas has sent a Second Amendment ally to the U.S. Senate after all.
While Republican Senator John Cornyn has been busy making backroom deals with Democrats and bartering away the gun rights of law-abiding Americans – the state’s other Senator – Ted Cruz has been working on his own legislation in the aftermath of the tragedy that took place in Uvalde last month.
Cruz – along with Wyoming’s Senator John Barrasso – introduced legislation – titled the Safe Kids, Safe Schools, Safe Communities Act of 2022 – last night that would “DOUBLE the number of school resource officers, invest in school mental health professionals, fund school security measures, & reduce gun violence.”
Senator Barrasso said in a joint statement that he believes the new “legislation will make a difference by securing schools and providing mental health professionals to identify and address the behavioral health needs of our students. This is an opportunity for Congress to take meaningful action to make our communities safer while always protecting the constitutional rights of Americans” he continued.
This bill differs from its earlier introduced counterpart because it does not send millions of dollars to states to enforce red flag laws that violate Americans’ rights to due process.
Cruz joined Fox News host Sean Hannity last night to advocate for his bill – and blast the one currently making its way through the Senate chamber.
The National Rifle Institute (NRA) also made their thoughts on the newly proposed legislation known via a statement from NRA-ILA Executive Director Jason Ouimet.
“On behalf of our millions of members, the NRA thanks Sen. Cruz and Sen. Barrasso for introducing the Safe Kids, Safe Schools, Safe Communities Act of 2022. Among other things, this legislation addresses critical issues like school security – to help keep our children and teachers safe, invests in mental health, and focuses on the prosecution of criminals while bolstering the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”

This bill would make sense. Unfortunately that’s exactly why it won’t hit the floor. Democrats and RINOs don’t care about actually helping to keep children (and adults) safe, all they want is to erode our rights as much as possible. The first they need to get rid of is the citizens right to bear arms, the second they need to get rid of (and they’re working on it) is the 1st Amendment.

Prosecute criminals.
Leave law abiding citizens the ability to protect their lives, loved ones, property and communities.
Gun control has never stopped a criminal from breaking laws.
One has to wonder why the U.S. Congress was/is so willing to lock cockpit doors and place anonymous Air Marshals on commercial planes…but refuses to do so for schools, all the while actively attempting to decimate the citizenry’s civil rights? The republican rinos are falling for the democrats trickery again. I will not vote for one of these rinos that help the democrats. The democrats are using this to stop conservatives from voting for these rinos in November,22 . And I hope these rinos get voted out of office in their respective states even the republicans do lose the house and the senate again. Real conservatives have got to show these rinos that we are tired of their games they play with the voters every two and four years.
This is a common sense bill, but will probably not hit the senate or congress floors for a vote. Scammer and Piglosi will NOT bring it foreward! It goes against what THEY want, to disarm law abiding citizens and let the criminals go free! Pray this bill will pass!!!
Secure our schools like the majority of law enforcement wants. Just like any other federal building. You had an ex Navy Seal on the Todd Starnes program volunteer his time and expertise to any school or law enforcement wanting it. Training to have people ready to stop these incidents before they happen.

Yesterday, Senator Todd Young from Indiana let me and many other Hoosier gun owners down by voting for the democrats’ gun control legislation. He didn’t have to and I’m pretty sure the consensus in Indiana is not along those lines, especially if it was widely known that every democrat and every other RINO in the Senate will vote to set aside several provisions of the constitution to do it. Furthermore, the expletive waited until there is no way we can vote against him to get rid of his sorry expletive without voting for someone worse like a democrat from a suburb of Chicago. This is leaving me very angry, and just goes to show me that we are no longer represented fully in the congress with a commie like Andre Carson in the House and now our RINO Senator who is making new friends with the gun grabbers and the likes of Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins and the biggest, expletive, RINO of them all Mitt expletive Romney.

This is what you do about it, the question is when. What is the line in the sand that will end this tyranny? It’s a good bill. It does not hinder our 2nd Amendment rights, but directly deals with the problem of mental illness in schools and in our communities by first acknowledging it exists and that it is a viable threat, secondly bringing it to the forefront in schools so it can be treated, and thirdly taking precautionary steps in our schools to protect our students, teachers, and administrators from it.
Our government officials now need to do something about their obsessiveness with decriminalizing drug use for the sake of gathering more taxes, in order to waste those taxes on pet issues that will either bring them more power and with it more ways to increase their own personal wealth. John Boehner and Bill Weld come to mind when it comes to the push for federal legalization of marijuana. That would bring them an increase in personal wealth of $10-20 million dollars for their lobbying efforts. Our southern border needs to be slammed close, and our politicians on both sides of the aisle, in between the aisles, in the White House, local and state governments need to find morals. They are directly responsible for destroying this nation and aiding and abetting our youth in harmful drug use. Example: Joe and Jill Biden’s adult children. Drug users since they were young whose political parents should be termed “enablers”.

I applaude both Senators for this bill. I believe this will work better for schools. I’m also who can replace Mitch McConnell for the Republicans. Will not vote for him. He’s a RINO. Also not vote McCarthy for Speaker of the house.

Sometimes I have to ask if modern society’s catering to every little psychic discomfort a child might experience isn’t a huge mistake. While I understand correlation isn’t causation, the nexus between helicopter parenting, the “every child wins a trophy” culture and increased narcotic drug usage, suicide, mental incapacitation aren’t closely related. It must be a tremendous shock when a child of this culture comes face-to-face with a situation wherein (s)he can’t have their way, for the first time in perhaps 20 years. No wonder so many go off the rails at the first insurmountable confrontation. Maybe…just maybe…the concept of “tough love” needs a rediscovery.
I was all set to vote straight Republican but now I am considering not voting at all. Congress is run by a uniparty bent on stepping our Rights away. Why hell would I give them any support when there isn’t any difference between the philosophical mindset.
