In the wake of a shooting which took place in Los Angeles over the weekend, a professional football team has called for its fans to support a prominent gun control group.
The Los Angeles Rams – one of two NFL teams based in the city – shared the following posts on their Twitter account Sunday:
The second tweet in the thread, which called for fans to “support those working to end gun violence like Everytown For Gun Safety” was promptly “ratioed” by Twitter users, and had amassed 487 comments to only 250 retweets.
A majority of comments and retweets of the post urged the team to stick to football, and stay out of partisan politics.
The city’s other NFL team – the Los Angeles Charges – shared their condolences for the community, without pushing an agenda like their aforementioned counterparts did.
As previously reported by American Liberty News, Huu Can Tran, 72, – the suspected gunman in Saturday’s shooting – was found in his vehicle Sunday evening with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Sorry, gun control laws only harm law abiding citizens not the criminal. So I will never support gun control or surrender my firearms.

Pro teams, as well as Hollywood elitist should stay in their own league. We, the People don’t tell them how to play football, or how to make a movie. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people. But everyone blames the inanimate object. Democrats want more bail reform and to close more prisons to put more criminals out on the streets. But, the legal gun owners are the ones that the anti-gunners come after. More importantly, the ones that parade around with armed security are the ones that speak out the loudest about more gun control because for some reason ($$$$) gun control doesn’t pertain to them. Not to mention, gangs are going to keep getting their illegal firearms by however necessary.
Something for the football players to keep in mind. Despite all of the large men on the field beating the hell out of each other there are very few deaths. This is because they equip themselves the best they can to protect against it. Why stop the citizens from protecting themselves? If somebody is going to break the law to kill somebody do you honestly think that if they can’t buy a gun legally they won’t commit the crime?
Roland – good observation but ya missed a very critical point. Those protected players have a rigid set of rules that govern the ‘play’ (it is a game after all). Break the rules and your team gets penalized. Break the rules badly enough and you get kicked out of the game and can get fined and even permanently banned. If that sort of standard was rigidly applied to criminals, us law abiding folks would probably be pretty safe.
I stopped watching professional football when Colon Kaperdick started kneeling for the national anthem and the league did nothing about it.
Bruce – I stopped when costas went on an unhinged rant about gun control (similar to what the lambs just did). And that was several years before humper dink did his grandstanding.
I’m starting to see a dictatorial bent to the national felons league. Are they trying to compete with the basketball group for being the most ‘woke’?
If California didn’t have such draconian gun laws than maybe some of those people might have been caring to take this murder out. Phuck the Rams.
The LA Rams can start with having all their players and coaches give up their own guns first – then we can see how serious they really are.
And their armed security folks and/or bodyguards.

Many of these unprofessional thieving politicians are looking to remove the guns from honest families wanting to only protect their families. Stealing our home defense guns will enable them to overtly steal your money and property without the fear of being killed. They presently use 3d world countries by giving them unrestricted access to our weapons. They can go out and sell the free weapons given to the country and sell it off to other warfighters who they could care less about. The cash is then funneled back to the US and divided up to those involved in corruption.
